Many people do not know nothing about Southeast Asia, Myanmar has been a military dictatorship for 49 years, It has put down many uprising with violence and the murder or disappearance of their citizens. It is another Cambodia "Killing Field" that has been at war with ethnic rebels for decades and is a chief supply er of drugs to the world.
We do not have to go to war, All you have to do is to ask government to boycott the Olympics in China, If China does not put a stop to the violence, China is Burma's #1 backer and trading partner.

Myanmar is a country in South East Asia. A military juncta is now governing the country denying democracy. The juncta government is keeping in hostage the winner of the last election, a woman loved very much by Myanmar people.

With America worst lost in Vietnam war (Myanmar is adjacent to Vietnam) it is better that US not to interfere anything cause Myanmar problem is a domestic problem to be solved only by Myanmar people itself.

Anyway, a peaceful solution is so much expected that the country not to be torn by a civil war.

Burma has a hold on our attention for the "governments" abject silencing of the populace by its militaristic regime. All we can do is ask our government to diplomatically and economically apply some more pressure on Burma's leaders. And, as much media attention as possible is probably the best means of easing the situation for the time being. This problem has been brewing for decades and won't be resolved easily.

By the way, until our own country has an economic or strategic reason to become involved it won't.

It ability do no longer awaken a drowsing lion. Buddhists have been suffering when you consider that 2500 years . there have been many tries on Buddha's existence as properly. Meditation makes the Buddhists stressful from interior. yet they don't seem to be appropriate. If all replace into appropriate then all will attain enlightenment. So in case you disturb Buddhists and Buddhists depart in the back of their concepts then there'll be hell. The LTTE Hindu Tamils tasted hell in Sri Lanka. Muslims are recommended to no longer create subject for Buddhists.

lol oh the irony...

There is a country called Myanmar. That which is Burma.

We've tried that before. Isnt a miracle that stupid hippies who would protest every war the US gets involved in now bitches because we dont get involved in conflict... but im sure will protest any action the US takes, but for now protests to inaction?

So is the ground of the hippy liberal.

I feel sorry for any human who has to suffer the elements of poverty. This country - formerly called Burma - needs as much as any other third world country. How much can we help another country when we cannot even solve the problems of the US?

It isn't America's role to liberate the world. The united nations should be taking a lead in that - working through a consortium of world powers.
