right now the illegal immigrants are being "nice" and "working hard" to prove that they aren't a pain in the as$ to the american citizens. how are you going to feel "if" the law passes that they aren't illegal any more and they expect to be treated differently.
once they are a citizen of the U.S.A they aren't going to work so damn hard any more. they aren't going to be so damn nice because, they don't have to be. that's when they are going to show their true colors on hatefulness and on how lazy they really are.
right now they are trying to kiss everyones as$ but if they are legal then they won't be kissing as$ any more because, they won't have to. what are you going to do when they stop working these long hrs. and they start going around like they own this country and expecting even more than what they are already getting?
how are you going to feel when you see that they are more of a problem than what you expected them to be? Like everyone was trying to say in the first place.

My take: Mexicans want US laws, employment, and education. Why not give it to them by making Mexico the 51st through 58th states? It would certainly solve the immigration issue, if Mexicans can find what they want right at home: stability, a decent legal system, free education, and such. It would definitely dampen the drug import problem, with far less of a border to the south to deal with. Before I get lots of hostile responses, I'd like to hear from both sides. Serious answers only, please. This is a what-if question, not inciting to war.

for having our citizenship....why can't they be grateful for all the things this country gives them? In some cases more than our citizens...like medical care..education..etc. Why can't they work with us. We have been bending over backwards for them for years...where is the gratitude... Am I missing something..or are some of these people really arrogant

Mexico is originally thiers and needs to be given back. Okay every one knows that Mexicans are a mixture of Indian and European. They say that is the indian blood in them giving them claims over that land. Okay so the new race MEXICAN spreads upward to CA, NM, TX, AR and kills and enslaves the tribes living there. Exactly what the Americans did to the indians to the tee. But since the Mexicans are part Indian this is not considered stealing? This is how the Mexicans acuired the land they are saying is thiers. It's a bull claim.

Although illegals don't do much work in the US, they certainly are involved in an incredible amount of crime (they are 35% of our prison population) including gangs and cramming incredible amounts of drugs into the US. That's very bad for us, but how often do people (especially the liberals who try to spin illegal immigration as being good for mexicans) count the cost to mexico? All that drug money and power gives criminals in mexico the ability to terrorize innocent people with impunity. That's OUR fault, both for buying the drugs and for failing to secure the border. Every time someone lies about illegals being something good, not only does it cause great harm to our country.....but it hurts people in mexico. Somehow, I can't help but wonder if it's done on purpose.

I'm sick of hearing that comment. People keep asking me if I am legal. I'm as Americn as any of you. My family has lived here for generations. And my Great Grandparents from both sides Quickly Americanized and didn't even teach their kids their Native language. They were born in other countries but they died Americans. But for reals enough already.

It seems to me, illegal immigration is concerned with lesser issues. The important issue is not whether they should be allowed to work here, but rather, how tall they are. It seems to me the average height of an illegal mexican immigrant male is around 5'3"

Average legal immigrants from non-border countries like India are around 5'7", Korea, 5'7" New zealand, 5'8.5", etc.

Is this a bad joke! Do really believe that The Government wants the border closed? Give me a break! We can put a missle up a cats a$$ from 1000 feet but we can't see invading illegals? Why is it that people are called racist for not wanting America to be overrun by illegal immigrants? How is that racist? American is not a race, it is a nationality. If the immigrants were coming by the thousands from Germany or Switzerland, we'd feel the same way. Why can't they get that it isn't about their skin color or their intelligence or anything else, it's about the fact that they are invading a country that doesn't belong to them?

Laws to control immigration are a liitle too late now. These people are not going to care. You are talking about criminals. They realize it is illegal to come here. They don't care. The only thing they are going to understand is ACTION. People keep saying "Congress needs to do this" and "The Senate needs to do that" but I think it is too late for that. The solution needs to start with the American people. Comments?
