One argument, is that illegal immigration is only a minor offense? True or not, it is breaking the law, no matter how minor. I hope I answered your Q. My fave monkey!

Hadenough: Morals can not alter laws. You make a good point though, parents should teach right from wrong.

Raising children the right way is a big responsibility. And I believe the Parents duty to do it right.
Teaching them right begins as infancy (so say most professorial for a good healthy life). Lack of morals have created many of the problems today. Poor guilds as parents as showed by many studies has often affected their adulthood in a negative way. If strong moral behaviors are inculcated in the child they have usually less problems in their adult life. It would seem that strong morals if instilled by good parents-stamps the child's future.
So in answer to your question I would want my child to understand that in living a good life and not lying or cheating or stealing or breaking laws or any wrong behavior is the best course always! For his benefit. And that wanting things he can't have unless he breaks those rules will not make his life the best it could be.

If all did that what a wonderful world it would be!

No, I would not teach my children to break laws. But, in the event there were unjust laws, I'd teach them how to go about getting them changed.

In other words, I'd teach my kids (and I have already) a sense of right & wrong and a strong sense of civic duty.

No one has the right to pick and choose what laws he/she will obey; I detest traffic laws, but I (try) to obey them because I know that they are for the good of public safety. And if I speed through a 15 MPH school zone at 60 MPH and get caught, liking or not liking the law will matter for nothing; I'm still going to be fined or jailed. As it should be.

I can't drive 55, that's one law that was finally overturned after two decades. How about discrimination based on color, creed, ect. It was the law of the land a few decades ago in southern states. So to answer your question, if the law is unjust, then yes, teach your child justice and fairness, compassion and wisdom.

Being an illegal alien makes that person a CRIMINAL.... not a minor criminal... but a major criminal...

Illegally entering the USA, knowingly doing so, should be punishable by death....

Illegal aliens are criminals, everything they do while in the USA illegally is a continuation of the initial crime of illegal entry.... They are thieves stealing from legal Americans.... nothing more, nothing less, just CRIMINALS.... criminals who are STEALING from legal Americans....

Illegal aliens should be punished under the RICO Statutes..... they are conducting an ongoing criminal enterprise....

Why do you feel the need to make comments like a grade school teacher? Or the Queen tapping her favorite subjects. To answer the question..No I wouldn't, nor would I teach my child to be a narrow minded, bigoted racist, I would teach them to have a mind of their own and to never bend down and kiss someones **** just to be a member of the club.

You are about as stupid as princess. What does a child have to do with laws? Did you know that laws do not apply to children but to their adult parents?? Get a life and a education while you are at it.

I teach my children to be aware of the laws, to understand the laws, to think through and understand consequences of their actions, and to make their own choices after thinking about the consequences.... and then to accept the consequences of those choices.

I can't control what they do. But I can teach them to make intelligent choices, and most often that leads to the right result.
