Take up arms? Have you ever noticed how many of the gun racks in the plethora of pickups are NOT empty?

Texans are always willing to take up arms IF the cause is right. It is difficult to consider shooting someone when that person is only trying to escape economic ruin in his own country, trying to feed his family. The primary difference between Texans and the Mexican illegals is that, if the situation were reversed and WE were facing economic ruin, we'd simply take over Mexico. That's how Texas was created in the first place. We took it from Mexico at the point of a gun. Granted, they had only owned it for 13 years at the time, but we still took it. Don't let the Hollywood stereotype of Texans fool you. We are decent, caring people for the most part, and wish no one ill. Just don't step on our toes. A man trying to feed his family is NOT stepping on our toes.

I hope they do... and that they use them... our government refuses to address the invasion of illegal aliens.... it would appear that the government is leaving it up to the citizens.... the citizens are the ones most effected by illegal aliens... UNTIL... election time... I think the politicians are corrupt and will do nothing even after the election... UNLESS the legal Americans demonstrate and scare the corrupt hell out of the politicians...

God I hope so. It has to start somewhere if this problem is going to get any better. It is our duty as Americans to protect our borders. If our government will not stand up and do it, the citizens will. I think the citizens are getting tired of waiting for the gov to take action.

I think the reputation held by Texans is no longer deserved. They have become as namby-pamby about many things as those living in Massachusetts.

i am a Texan, and the invasion of mexico's military has me pissed (not reported widespread), we have been invaded several times this year by a foreign military force (who are protecting drug smugglers) and Bush says we are safe. he has dropped the bell on border security so badly i am ready to secede again

No! Texans are not really that violent. Many carry gun and have permits and have received training. Unless attacked they will rely on law enforcement.
