Sadly, El Salvador can not join the US as the 53rd state because doing so at this time would make them the 51st state. Apart from that, and approval of Congress by a vote as per Article IV of the Constitution, which would require the government of El Salvador submitting a request for statehood that would require the approval of their population...there is no obstacle to El Salvador joining the US

Before El Salvador join as the 53 rd state, it would be nice to know who would join as the 51st and the 52nd. In a deck of cards there are 52 cards, in the US there are 50 states.

Why? You are making a killing already. Why ruin a good thing.
53rd state will destroy El Salvador.
The Hawaiians are protesting against oppression and want the 50th state null and void.

Why not? Why can't every country in the western hemisphere give up its culture and join the United States of America.

that'd be kinda weird to have a part so far down south....lol...I wish they'd pick up El Salvador and stick it right next to California...since it's so small..I wouldn't be surprised if they did...LOL..
