So if any of you American boys out there want to play, come to my church.

After serving for 21 years in the military, i can tell you that the legals that i served with spoke very little english but were the most dedicated soldiers. They knew their purpose and their mission and took matters seriously. Loyalty to this nation was unquestionable. I was one of them when i joined at the age of 17. By allowing the illegals prove their loyalty to this nation and serving honorably, this should grant them the legal status. Are we afraid that they might take that job too. Serving this nation is not a job, its everybodys DUTY.

Why is it that anytime a posting is made here about immigration discussing "illegal immigrants" people make it a racist thing (on both sides).

Most pro mexican illegal immigrants damage their cause by concluding that anytime that phrase is used, it MUST mean a mexican (which then proves that immigration issue IS a problem). Not to mention to stupidity of the "it was ours first" argument damaging their chances of changing anyone's mind.
(I have not seen a pro illegal imm. person who didn't use the mexican connection, that's why I use that description).

Many anti illegal immigrants damage their cause by making rude comments about a particular race when the issue is legal status, not origin of the offender.

Why is it that people cannot seem to deal specifically with the issue of illegal immigration (from ANYWHERE) is a problem both from the standpoint of jobs anywhere as well as the ease with which terrorists can enter the country easily without getting into a racial argument?

I am against illegal immigration, so I am labeled a racist, however I have no problem if someone wants to immigrate to the United States legally. Why have people labeled the people who oppose illegal immigration as being racist against Mexicans. Not all Illegal immigrants are Mexican. I just have a problem with people who come to this country illegaly then take advantage of the systems, maybe they are doing the jobs people dont want to do, but there is always someone to do a job, no matter what.

Just a note, my family emmigrated from Hungary the right way, they got their green card and they became citizens of the United States.

Does Callup Of Marines Mean U.S. Is Closer To Draft?

The "D" word is surfacing again.

Speculation is increasing that there is no way the United States can continue to "stay the course" the way President George Bush is insisting without some kind of major adjustment in supplying people to serve in the military.

The catalyst is the move to recall Marines to active duty:
The Marine Corps said Tuesday that it would begin calling thousands of Marines back to active-duty service on an involuntary basis to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan — the latest sign that U.S. armed forces are under strain and a potential signal of the growing unpopularity of the Iraq war among young veterans.

Marine commanders will call up formerly active-duty service members now classified as reservists after the Corps failed to find enough volunteers among their emergency reserve pool to fill needed jobs in combat zones. The call-ups will begin in several months, summoning as many as 2,500 reservists at a

David Cameron (candidate for Prime Minster in Britain) just said on TV that -The America people are roaring over immigration and watch out President Bush they are ready to pounce.

I don't really know much about him (nothing in fact). Or why he would be concerned.

But I do believe that sounds like the American people's feeling on the issue of immigration. How do you feel about this statement? Are Americans roaring and will they pounce soon ?

Do they steal jobs from unemployed Americans— especially low-income whites, blacks and teenagers.?
We can't keep taking on millions of people from countries that refuse to practice family planning. We can't keep taking on sheer numbers that have no end until we end up like Bangladesh, China or India. We can't sustain another 200 million people in this country at this standard of living.

Overpopulation will become the 'Plague of the 21st Century'.
Did you know in 2005 around 10 million , Mexicans live in the US,6 million illegally. One in 12 people from Mexico now lives in the United States. In 2005,Mexican mirgrants sent home an estimated 1.7 billion every month. What do they do with all that loot?

Dear Editor: So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statute of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry. Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place
