I would say they know quite a bit.
They know that they will not be killed for crossing the border illegally (and if caught will be escorted back home without penalty).
That they can anchor themselves here if they give birth here.
That they can send back ALL the money they make without having to pay taxes.
That they will benefit from the hard work and labor of the legal immigrants who came before them...
No one ever said they were stupid.
edit - (by the way bunt - Columbus didn't come across the US all 5 voyages put him on the islands around the bahamas etc.... Not to mention, the same europeans that came to the US territory are the ancestors of the mexicans as well... SO, no one who is not true native Mexican can claim any of that land any more than only true native Americans can claim any of this land. Some history lessons are clearly in order)

Ok you actually expect illegals to be on here to answer this question? Let's see most of them have 2 full time jobs,and came from a place that i'm guessing barely had running water and an indoor toilet.Yeah i'm sure that's one of the first priorities on their "to get list" once they arrive in the U.S. right after "take computer course" and "buy an ipod".

I think everyone has the right to make a better life for themselves. It's not as easy as everyone thinks to gain citizenship in the U.S.
And as far as how much illegals know about the U.S. and its history, most Americans don't know much about the U.S. (but you can thank our education system for that). I think that most immigrants, legal or not, make it a point to learn about the place they're moving to. Wouldn't you?

uhh yea dumb a** it is their fault that they dont have papers. They should wait in line like everyone else. Its not just mexicans but they make up most of the illegal pop. I dont care what race u are...u should come here legally. There is NO!!! excuse for breaking American law by coming here illegally!
Bandido dude...yes part of texas was once mexico, but its not anymore...I suggest that we just break off texas and give it back to mexico...what would u bet the illegals would still move futher north...its not about land..its about being in AMERICA and YOU know it. How much do I know? A lot more than the average American, who is American just because his mom popped him out here!
1)this country is made by illegal immigrants, starting from Columbus who invaded and abused the Native Americans.
2)Now you are just impostors and thieves. You are American as much as I am Chinese.
Oh, and BTW, about half a million illegals are from Europe.

Im mexican n i bet u i know more about the us than u. If u havnt heard there are americans that dont know tha much abou the us. Just to let u know mexicans only come here to support their families. Its not their fault they dont have papers.
