Instead of coming illegally to the US the Mexicans should fight against their corrupt goverment.
How is possible that the third richest man in the world (according to forbes magazine) is a very well known mexican (carlos slim helu) (by the way "slim" is a lebanese last name because that guy is of arabian ancestry). The point here is that the richest families in Mexico have reached their economic status due to the fact that the corrupt goverment allows them to have the property of monopolies. In the case of the arabian mention above he is the owner of the national mexican telephone company (telmex). It is clear that the mexicans should request in a very strong way to their corrupt goverment to stop such monopolies but unfortunelity they risk themselfs to be killed for such goverment.

Let me help you with giving you one of the glaring examples:

cities like Farmers Branch and Hazleton, Pa., where a similar ordinance prompted a civil rights lawsuit, need to enforce code ordinances and focus police efforts on criminal misconduct, not dabble in immigration law. Redlining illegal immigrants community by community isn't an answer.

Hmmmmm, Police should focus police efforts on criminal misconduct. Hmmmmm, what exactly is a the illegal invasion and trespass of our borders? Wow, the liberal retard can't even spot when they contradict themselves.

I fully support Farmers Branch. ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS HAVE NO RIGHTS!!!! DEPORT THEM NOW!!!!1

hola amigo, I am an illegal immigrant.I am illegal because most companies in the USA ask us to come illegally. I
have asked if they wanted to file for a work permit, but companies says it is too complicated becasue guys working at the USCIS (or whatever u call that)are slow and lazy.
I would not mind to work legally in the USA and go back home, but waiting years for a littel work permit, no thanks.easier for me, to come here, and get a job illegaly...
so if you have to blame somebody, blame ur governement who can not issue for us work permit.

I got an email from the immigration, he told me the same thing, that the system is ****** up, too many paperwork just for us , and they have better to do than to take care of us who want just a little job.

I could marry a US girl, by why? this is lying and it is illegal.so guys, dont be to rude with us and if u see an illegal immigrant, ask him why he is here, and go drink a beer with him, maybe u will understand how this world works..

Neighbor charged in death of Bellevue woman in home
Police say suspected illegal immigrant admitted killing

By CHRISTIAN BOTTORFF
Staff Writer

The remnants of a brutal and lengthy fight were scattered throughout Mary Sadler's 229 Cross Timbers Drive home on Tuesday.

Police found Sadler's cockatiel, Aussie, cowering in a corner with a broken wing. The bird later died at an emergency clinic.

A glass panel from a grandfather clock was shattered. A mirror in the front foyer was cracked, and glass spilled out onto the floor.

Nearby, police found Sadler, 74, dead, her beaten and bloody body by a rear sliding-glass door inside the home.

"It was one hell of a fight," her grandson-in-law, Paul Woods, said Tuesday as he helped clean debris from the living room. "I think she did a good job for being 74 years old and trying to defend herself."

According to Metro police, the man who on Monday killed Sadler, and perhaps Sadler's bird, was Ivan Moreno, 30, a next-door neighbor.

Moreno, who is thought to be an illegal immigrant from Mexico, admitted to police that he struck Sadler after he went to her house to get money, said Metro police spokesman Don Aaron.

Moreno was arrested yesterday on a charge of criminal homicide.

He also faces two charges of assaulting police officers during his arrest and a domestic assault charge after threatening his wife in Spanish that he would kill her if she cooperated with authorities, police said.

Moreno's possible illegal presence in the country was a sore spot yesterday for Sadler's family and neighbors. They expressed contempt for landlords who rented a duplex to Moreno and his family.

Police initially said Sadler had been beaten to death, but an autopsy yesterday found that she had also been strangled, Aaron said.

It was not clear exactly what touched off the violence inside the home. Moreno had gone to Sadler's house to ask for money.

Sometime after the killing, he went to a Mapco on Highway 70 South where he became belligerent after being refused cigarettes because he didn't have enough money, police said.

Moreno left the Mapco before police arrived and drove back to his neighborhood. Neighbors saw him driving recklessly through yards and called police.

Officers arrived at Cross Timbers Drive to find his car abandoned with a shredded tire, police said.

He was identified moments later and found to have an outstanding warrant for failing to show up in court in June on a charge of driving without a license, police said.

Officers went to his home at 233 Cross Timbers Drive, but Moreno wasn't there. As they prepared to leave, they spotted him behind Sadler's home with blood on his clothes, police said.

According to police, Moreno kicked two officers who tried to arrest him.

Moreno appears to have used false documents and a fake name to land a job at a West End Avenue restaurant, police said. Federal authorities are working to determine his immigration status.

The killing prompted a joint statement by Metro police Chief Ronal Serpas, Sheriff Daron Hall and District Attorney General Torry Johnson, announcing plans to reform the way criminal immigrants are handled in Nashville.

"While it is premature at this point to announce any plans or initiatives, suffice it to say that the three of us are working closely with the federal government to develop a system to better protect our citizens from immigrants who commit criminal acts and show a blatant disregard for our laws," the statement said.

Investigators have said they didn't know of any animosity between Moreno and Sadler before Monday, though a police spokesman said a hand-held video game and other undisclosed items from Sadler's home were found in Moreno's home, police said.

Sadler's family and neighbors yesterday told The Tennessean there had been disputes between them.

One recent spat involved one of Moreno's children shooting a BB gun at tomatoes in Sadler's back yard, a family member said.

Police yesterday declined to comment about that.

"We are still early in the investigation," Aaron said. "We will be talking to Mrs. Sadler's family in more detail."

Do you sympathize with illegal immigrants, see the problem as, that of exploited laborers, people dying in the deserts in attempts to cross the border illegally and an unrealistic immigration policy, making it impossible to gain residency...

Or

Do you view illegal immigrants as criminals and invaders, the problem has been one of enforcement -- how to jail, deport and keep out immigrants in order to ensure the welfare of "real" Americans.

The media and govt. spins it both ways, which is the reality?

Firms Who Hire Illegal Immigrants Sued
By PETER PRENGAMAN
Associated Press Writer

August 22, 2006, 9:11 PM EDT
LOS ANGELES -- Frustrated by lax enforcement of immigration law, businesses are taking their fight against illegal immigration to court, accusing competitors of hiring illegal workers to achieve an unfair advantage.

Businesses and anti-illegal immigration groups said the legal action was an attempt to create an economic deterrent against hiring illegal employees.

"We see the legal profession bringing to this issue the kind of effect it's had on consumer product safety," said Mike Hethmon of the Immigration Reform Law Institute, a Washington D.C.-based group backing the efforts.

In the first of a series of lawsuits, a temporary employment agency that supplies farm workers sued a grower and a two competing companies on Monday.

Similar cases claiming violations of federal anti-racketeering laws have yielded mixed results. The California lawsuit is believed to be the first based on a state's unfair-competition laws, legal experts said.

Santa Monica-based Global Horizons claimed in the lawsuit that Munger Brothers, a grower, hired illegal immigrant workers from Ayala Agricultural Services and J&A Contractors. All the defendants are based in California's farm-rich Central Valley.

The suit alleges that Munger Brothers had a contract with Global Horizons to provide more than 600 blueberry pickers this spring, but nixed the agreement so it could hire illegal immigrants.

"Competitors hiring illegal immigrants is hurting our business badly," Global Horizons President Mordechai Orian said. "It's to the point that doing business legally isn't worth it."

Ayala Agricultural Services manager Javier Rodriguez had not seen the suit but said the company does not hire undocumented immigrants.

"If somebody doesn't have a green card or work documents, we don't hire them," he said.

Munger Brothers lawyer Theodore Hoppe said the contract with Global Horizons fell apart because the laborers they provided couldn't pick blueberries at the rate the company had promised. He said Munger Brothers hired workers through temporary agencies, which had the responsibility to hire legal workers.

J&A Contractors did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

With an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States, undocumented workers are a large part of the nation's work force.

But immigration law enforcement at work sites is limited. In fiscal year 1999, authorities arrested 2,849 people at work sites compared with 1,145 arrests last year, according to the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

To prove competitors hire illegal immigrants, businesses could use public records involving prior violations, testimony from former employees who have worked alongside illegal immigrants, and recovered W-2 tax forms that show people working under fake names and Social Security numbers, said David Klehm, the lead lawyer for cases in Southern California.

Companies planning to file additional lawsuits include farms and factories that depend heavily on immigrant labor, Klehm said.

Legal experts said the cases could be difficult to win. Under the California statutes, plaintiffs must prove a competitor directly harmed their business.

"Unless you've got smoking gun evidence, it's hard to tie economic loss of one business to another's practices," said Niels Frenzen, a law professor at the University of Southern California.

He believes it is the first time the unfair-competition law has been used to target illegal immigration.

The Global Horizons lawsuit came after a settlement was reached in a Washington state class action suit involving employees of Zirkle Fruit Co. who sued their employer for driving down wages by hiring undocumented workers.

Based on federal anti-racketeering laws, the case was settled for $1.3 million in January after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a lower court decision to dismiss it.

Howard Foster, the lead plaintiffs' lawyer in the Washington case, said he expects more such suits as business owners learn their competitors hired illegal immigrants.

"So many people talk openly about using false documents to assemble an illegal workforce," Foster said. "And when you have IDs with upside down numbers and backward pictures, you know they are fake."

Gift to allow Minutemen to erect high-tech fence

Arthur H. Rotstein
Associated Press
Aug. 23, 2006 12:00 AM

TUCSON - A Washington-based company is donating as much as $7 million worth of fiber-optic security fencing for the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps to use in any new barriers the group erects to try to keep illegal immigrants out of Arizona.

The mesh has embedded sensors that can differentiate between human and animal contact and conditions such as high winds or heavy rain. Tied into cameras and alarms, the system can alert monitors to the precise location of any intrusion.

"We're certainly not against immigration," said Nina May, the head of FOMGuard USA, which is donating the material. "We're against illegal immigration, because there are standards to follow. Too many people stand in line for years, and it's not fair to them." advertisement

FOMGuard USA represents FOMGuard Co., a South Korean enterprise that developed the fencing material.

May said the mesh security fencing was designed for use along the demilitarized zone with North Korea.

Mexican theme park turns border crossing into sport

Jeremy Schwartz
Cox News Service
Aug. 23, 2006 12:00 AM

IXMIQUILPAN, Mexico - On a misty, moonless night, the group scurried down the canyon wall, their feet slipping in the ankle-deep mud. The sirens grew louder as their guide, clad in a ski mask and known only as Poncho, urged them to run faster. "Hurry up! The Border Patrol is coming!"

A couple in matching designer tennis outfits loped awkwardly along, the boyfriend clutching a digital video camera and struggling to keep the screen steady.

The 20 or so people fleeing the Border Patrol aren't undocumented immigrants. They're tourists about 700 miles from the border. Most are well-heeled professionals more likely to travel to the United States in an airplane than on foot. advertisement

They've each paid 150 pesos, or about $15, for what is perhaps Mexico's strangest tourist attraction: a night as an undocumented immigrant crossing the Rio Grande.

Advertising for the mock journey, which takes place at a nature park in the central state of Hidalgo, tells the pretend immigrants to "Make fun of the Border Patrol!" and to "Cross the border as an extreme sport!"

The organizers say they are trying to build empathy for migrants by putting people in their shoes.

And the organizers, members of a Hnahnu indigenous community, speak from experience. Leaders estimate as many as 90 percent of the 2,500-person community have made the journey to the United States, most ending up in the boomtown of Las Vegas.

"We do this to show the people what it's like, to make them more conscious," said Hnahnu elder Luis Santiago Hernandez, who has crossed more than five times. Santiago said that although they try to make the experience authentic, "it's not even 10 percent of the real thing."

The trip also seeks to educate participants on Hnahnu culture and represents a source of income for the community, leaders said. The Mexican government helped finance the creation of the Eco Alberto nature park.

Participants said they were lured by the realistic experience promised by the nearly six-hour nocturnal walk.

"It was like being in their flesh and bones," marveled Oswaldo Martinez, 31, of Cuernavaca.

"It was cool. It was very fun," gushed his friend Mauricio Palacios, 30. "I never imagined it would be like that."

Until almost 2 a.m., the group scaled walls, hid in tunnels, jumped on the back of pickup trucks and followed a path through a cornfield. The trip ended with a ride in blindfolds to a Hnahnu holy place where Poncho, whose name is Alfonso Martinez Flores, asked the group to be more honest and sincere in their lives.

Word of the tourist attraction has provoked much head-scratching among immigrant advocates in the United States and real-life immigrants who have made the trek across the border.

Some called the risk-free adrenaline rush insulting. Others said it could improve the often-conflicted attitudes of Mexicans toward their compatriots who migrate.

"Anything that raises awareness in Mexico of the plight of undocumented immigrants is welcome," said Jorge Bustamante, special Mexican representative to the U.N. for human rights of migrants. "But the indifference is very strong, and it's greater as you ascend in social class."

Maria Garcia, a Mexican immigrant who founded the Hispanic Community Support Center in Duluth, Ga., said the mock crossing could be perceived as exploiting the suffering of migrants. "Someone crossing the border knows they could die," she said. "Someone going on this tour knows they will have fun."

Immigrant rights advocate Josefina Castillo, director of the Austin American Friends Service Committee office in Texas, said the adventure should include dialogue about the economic reasons immigrants leave home. "If it's just part of a show, then it would be (insulting)," she said. "It should lead to more education."

If the amnesty bill for illegal aliens that's before the Senate becomes law, it will cost taxpayers over $100 billion over the next 10 years. That figure comes from the Congressional Budget Office. The Senate immigration reform bill comes with a $126 billion price tag. That's a lot of money. The kicker? Congress has no idea how to pay for it. $48 billion of the $126 billion would be mandatory spending. Illegal aliens in the United States would become eligible for taxpayer funded entitlement programs. The cost over the next decade: $24.5 billion in tax refunds through the earned income and child tax credit, $15.4 billion for Medicare and Medicaid, $5.2 billion in Social Security benefits. And $3.7 billion in food stamps and nutrition programs. These costs will only rise over time. Representative Tom Tancredo says the only winners are the corporations. Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO)said: "These are all costs that we incur so that we can obtain cheap labor. It's not cheap. It's cheap only to the employer. Believe me, it's not cheap to the taxpayer."
