what kind of stupid questions is this? The immigration people will evaluate your case based on merits not if you are black, blue, purple or green! If you have something useful to bring to the UK like a profession, engineering or a medical doctor for example I know this helps your case. If you arrived here illegally and are now whining then its your own fault. The british taxpayers cannot be expected to pay for every thirdworld immingrant who managed to run through the channel tunnel. Role reversed I'm sure african governments would act the same. And just for the record, the Uk is one of the easiest countries to immigrate to, try immingrating to ireland. At least here you are provided with housing and food stamps while your case is assessed name one other counrty that does all that for you? Exactly so tell me again why we're treating you so badly? methinks it has nothing to do with the colour of your skin.

Britain HAS to take in "white" immigrants from the EU countries ... that's part of being in the EU I'm afraid, free flow of workers etc., just like it will be here in the U.S. if and when the NAFTA Superhighway comes onboard ... the West Indies and Africa are alas not part of the EU, and will have to go through all the immigration channels, background screening etc. Has nothing to do with what Britain "wants" in the matter ....

I don't believe morally there is a right or wrong answer to this. In my opinion the world belongs to the people, and therefore one should be free to travel and work as it suits.
However, and this is a big however. here in the UK at the present time, we have seen a huge influx of immigrants of all races and cultures. The problem which seems to be becoming more and more apparent is that due to human rights, anti-discrimination etc etc is that the indiginous British people are seeing their own human rights etc being eroded.
As a consequence, there seems to be an emerging trend, which I can forsee as growing unrest, that people are naturally becoming more discriminate.
Therefore in answer to your question I don't believe that it matters where one comes from, the colour of one's skin, people are increasingly becoming resistant to anyone from another country taking residence here.

I don't think you actually know what immigrates have to go through to stay in this country. I'm white and have just had to renew my visa to stay in the u.k. It was not made easy for me. I had to provide evidence about everything (my income, job, living arrangements, partner) then pay the Home Office &500. There were not seperate application forms for white and black people!!

Yes they would. Definitely. They'll find ways to justify it to themselves as not racist, but basically it is, and when they talk about limiting immigration they aren't thinking of white Australian immigrants such as me (for example), they're thinking of West Asians and Middle Easterners. I see it all the time - I'll be at work talking to someone who is going on about "too many immigrants" or somesuch, and when I point out that this includes me I get "oh, you're alright, I mean the ..." - if sometimes not in so many words.

Here, Here to the last post!! EU nationals are allowed free passage and are able live and work anywhere in the EU. Not a question of racism - sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder the size of a very large King Edward Potato. As I said before if you donr like it try France - or if your that bothered about racism try writing to Robert Mughabe - and asking him why Zimbabwe is persecuting and killing its white farmers and entrepeneurs!!

it doesn't matter if that's true or not. The UK should be allowed to have any immigration policy it want as the British are the natives of that country.

On paper, probably not, but in their hearts, yes. People always shy away from anything that is obviously different to themselves. We have had immigrants and invaders for many hundreds of years. In earlier times they didn't look that different from ourselves (vikings, normans etc) but now people come from further afield with brown/black skins and are obviously 'different'. They make easy targets because they are easily recognisable.

Not that I have ever heard of. I have friends who are black that lived in the UK for 8 years & loved it. They said it was not bigoted as a whole, always exceptions.
