What do you think are a few of the positives of immigration?

This question, for those of you who are reading too much into it, is NOT about illegal vs legal immigration. It's about the changing demographics of the US, and whether or not you think these changes are good and if so why or why not.

Usherfan: It appears you have responded to the question with hostility. Not sure where that came from, as I thought this was a positive question.

Pucca: this question was about any positive impact of a demographic trend in the US. All you had to do was say something positive about it. Perhaps you need to look in the mirror at your racism, DEAR.

Monica: the term, "Browning of America" was coined by sociologists to describe the changing demographics of American society, specifically the rising population of hispanics. Perhaps if you had ever read a book, you might have heard of it.

Immigration is great. Without immigration where would we be?? Illegal immigration is where we get the problem. But as a country, we are dragged down under the financial weight of illegal immigrants. Our prisons fill with them, our programs bankrupt by them. It is an issue that can no longer take a backseat.

This would be referring to a utopian outlook of the future in which all races of the Earth will eventually homogenize and there will be only one race. That would be positive but I think it will take thousands of years to come about.

Well, the first immigrants were white... so, how is immigration "Browning" america... It makes no sense... I'm not against immigrants as long as people decide to enter this country legally.

The "browning" is not the issue .... the issue is 20 million illegal aliens in this country .... no background checks, no medical, no financial eligibility checks ... we don't know where they're from, we don't know what they want in this country, we know NOTHING about them .. we know they cost a lot of money to keep here ... we know preventable crime is on the up ... "browning"? Hell, that's the least of our worries ...

I misunderstood your question. I was thinking of how crappy the Republicans have made the country while they've been on "power."
