Since I'm prior enlisted I had been to meps a while back.. For those of you who have recently been to meps, besides the Security form where it asks from age of 16 or 7yrs whichever comes first, have you tried marijuana? Did they ever ask again on any other forms or in person if you have EVER done drugs? I can't remember. All I remember is I had to go into a room and talk to someone breifly before I got finger printed.. I have no idea the questions they asked. Anyone remember? Same goes for BMT... do they ask you in there and use the word "EVER" ???

A new law that penalizes employers who hire illegal immigrants goes into effect Tuesday. But the impact can already be seen in many ways here in the Valley.

The Mexican Consulate located in downtown Phoenix is swamped.

Undocumented immigrants are going there to get Mexican birth certificates for their U.S. born children that will ease the way for the kids to be enrolled in school, and will assure there are no problems should the family be deported.

Some say they are fearful without the certificate because Child Protective Services could take custody of their children.

Deputy Counsul Alfonso Navarro-Bernachi says applications for Mexican birth certificates are up 100 percent since last year.

People are also filling out forms claiming their personal property so it will not be subject to an import tax when they cross the border.

Some employers say they've been hit hard.

Placido Castellanos, owner of Casa de Mariache in Phoenix, says because he’s lost some employees and a good portion of their customer base, he may have to sell.

"We're only making about $200 a day," he said. "With our mortgage at several thousand dollars a month, we just can't make it."

I know lawyers can do it is there a way a normal person can change the date had the date been like a week before or after the 6th that would of been fine but I just can't do it the 6th any help?

What would you say to someone who says The Constitution is not really relevant in 2008?

(This comment was made while in the middle of a discussion on the consistent loss of liberties since 2001.)

What actually killed Benazir Bhutto: (1) The Gun shot that they claimed exit her body (2) The effect of the bombing of the suicide bomber or (3) The bang of her head on the sun roof glass they claim went through her head.
I am interested in hearing any explanation that you might have.

Well its simple as this:
We were at a party, my brother was drunk and angry so he slapped me. So, my boyfriend right after I was slapped, beat the crap out of my brother. My brother wants to press charges but can my boyfriend say he was defending me? I hate my brother so much.

If you receive a solicitation for a charitable donation by phone and in order to get rid of them I succommed to some high pressure salesmanship. I live on a small fixed income and really cannot afford the donation amount. I believe it is a legitimate organization( will check during business hours with the Police Fraud division for certain.) If it is legitimate do I have to pay the donation anyway. I know I should have hung up but I was willing to do a small amount but when they kept raising the "suggested donation" and saying I had to send the money the day some packet about it arrives I just got more digruntled and agreed with the terms. Can they force me to pay and if I don't can they send me to collection? I am 80 years old and live on a small SS check. Thank you

My friend joined the army reserves and he was telling me how they looked for a hernia on him. He said they put two fingers on his pubic area and asked him to twist a little to each side and cough. Then they asked him to bend over and spread his buttchecks.

Do they really ask him to do that and is that really how they check for a hernia?

Sorry if I spelled hernia wrong.

And what are they checking for when they look at your butt crack?

Is my friend a crazy lier and I'm kinda gulable? Lol. Seems kinda crazy to me.

Why is there so much vanity in the USA? Many people outside America think that a world without the USA would be a better world. Do they have a point?
America is always behaving like silly cowboys towards the other countries and their ARROGANCE is legendary.
Have a good look at yourselves in the mirror and discover yourselves. Please remove that blinding veil of VANITY once and for all.

A town council meets. The unemployment rate is the same as the national average. It's a somewhat small town (pop<10000) and the economy is stable, though not milk and honey. I'm not sure if this is exactly how it happens, but play along.

A large retail chain wishes to build a store in the town. Doing so will ruin many local small businesses (Walmart vs Wilma's apparel). Some will have to shut down and others will have to fire workers. But, the new store will offer slightly more jobs than those fired.

Should they be allowed to do so? At the cost of local culture?

Probably the following BBC report explains:

Extracted from BBC News item :
Iowa: the reality check for candidates

The BBC's North America Editor Justin Webb explains why this sparsely populated, rural state is so crucial for White House contenders.

Why should our presidential election be so heavily influenced, other Americans sometimes ask, by 100,000 or so people who actually turn up to the Iowa caucuses, most of them white and most of them over 55?

The honest answer is that Iowa and New Hampshire, and the other handful of early votes, for all their unfairness, at least give the system a connection with local communities.
