I retired with the rank of 1SG (E8).

And I was #1 on the -9 list when the med board told me I was 'permanently nondeployable.'

You are the very first Cpl I ever heard refer to themselves as an E4.

Did not know the Boy Scouts had Corporals.

EDIT: A corporal is expected to fill a leadership role and has a higher rank than a specialist
even though both receive the same amount of pay.
