Since I'm prior enlisted I had been to meps a while back.. For those of you who have recently been to meps, besides the Security form where it asks from age of 16 or 7yrs whichever comes first, have you tried marijuana? Did they ever ask again on any other forms or in person if you have EVER done drugs? I can't remember. All I remember is I had to go into a room and talk to someone breifly before I got finger printed.. I have no idea the questions they asked. Anyone remember? Same goes for BMT... do they ask you in there and use the word "EVER" ???

Well I'm going under Top secret for pilot. I tried marijuana once when I was 14.. which is not 16.. But I don't remember if they asked if I had "EVER" done it.. which can be a bad thing now.

It's been so long since I went through that they didn't even call it MEPS back then, so I can't really answer that part of your question.

You've asked this question before. I understand your concern. First thing, did you have any reaction to marijuana when you tried it, or did you have any police issues as a result of trying it? If the answer to both of those is no I think you would be safe in answering no to the question.

But to be on the safe side, since you are in ROTC I would suggest you have a chat with someone in your detachment, preferably an NCO who has some knowledge of the personnel side of things.

The chances are they will advise you to answer no. That is a safe answer if there are no ways this issue could resurface and bite you. A lot depends on how many people knew you tried marijuana.

Quite a few people have tried it and chances are it's not going to be much of an issue, but once you've admitted to using it you can't take your answer back. I seriously doubt they will disqualify you over marijuana experimentation at age 14 if you've been clean ever since. But it's better to be safe than sorry, and I understand how badly you want this.

Usually the only time that they asked that is when you first sign the paperwork at your recruiters and then again at MEPS.... as far as if they worded it differently not to my knowledge. but each MEPS is different. sometimes they might ask you the same thing but in a different manner to see if everything is correct.

Yeah they will ask you in person. if your joining the military and have the courage to do your part for this country then why dont you have the courage to answer questions that are asked truthfully. I dont care when it was when you did it you need to be honest with anything that they ask you. If you think you need to lie then you shouldnt re-join the military you should know how it works. be Honest.

My recruiters told to say "no" to everything that was aked to me. That's what I did. I wasn't about to tell them that I have done marijuana. I didn't even tell them that I had 5 speeding tickets in three states. They probably wouldn't care any way.

It's all based on the previous seven years, that I recall.
