Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
blue every Friday. The reason? Americans who support
our troops used to be called the 'silent majority' We
are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for
God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We
are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.
Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
America supports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and
respect starts this Friday

I was watching some videos in youtube of nuclear explosions, and when that wave (i don't know of what it is) comes, it destroys everything but the camera stands still and keeps recording. How does it keep recording?

America allows for an amazingly good life for the ordinary person.

America allows one to have a large say in their future.

America has gone far in establishing equality of rights following the Civil Rights Movement.

America allows people to openly practice a religion of choice.

America allows people a voice to oppose criminals that misrepresent the American people.

America has something to offer everyone from any walk of life.

Americans are not afraid to change and to grow.

America has the potential to do great good.

America allowed me to serve the citizens of these United States both in the military and as a civil servant.

American ingenuity is amazing.

The way I see it, if you throw billions of people together, which today's world has like never before, aren't we bound to run into conflict. Eventually, once we get used to each other and work out certains areas of concern, won't the world just calm down? On a much smaller scale, it is like merging two highschools. There's different school colors, teachers, schedules, classes offered, etc. But eventually, things calm down after a while. Now muliply that analogy to the world's scale. The merging process will take longer given the shear size of the world, but won't it work out the same. Sure, we are talking deaths instead of lunchyard fights. However, once this era of globalization is over, aren't we looking at a Golden Age? The 3rd world nations will catch up to the first world, there will be more ideas to build off each other, and resources will be introduced for new products given the new world market.

That way they can take away our time to rest and keep us overworked to perpetuate our slavery. Look at how places do not give Christmas off and if you do take Christmas off you are penalized for it. What are your thoughts on this?

As a woman, as a mother, as a mother of a marine in Iraq, and an aunt to a niece in the navy, and a nephew in the Nat. Guard, I really thought the late p.m. showed promise and hope for democracy in Pakistan. How can we as mothers, and Americans show that we will not tolerate violence as an expression of anger? Is this really the price? To kill a woman and a mother? I am overwhelmed, expecially that some people think that this is no concern of ours. I am truly sorry, my heart goes out to her family and her country.

I'm just an average citizen trying to get the word out to encourage people to seriously consider voting for Barack Obama. To the young people out there, lets take back this country, and go vote. They're counting on you to NOT participate. Prove them wrong!!

My boyfriend (of 8 years) has recieved a job offer from a Hospital near Dublin. He wants to go, but we are having a hard time making the decision.

Our major concern is getting me there. We decided the best thing would be to get married before he goes and then for me to apply for a "Visa for the purposes of family reunification".

But, I've read different restrictions about him needing to have worked there for at least a year, or be able to provide three consecutive paychecks with my application to prove that he can support me. Both of these options would take too long.

I don't want to go through the hassle of selling our house/car/belongings and the family drama with moving there, if it takes me 8 months to get there (2-passport, 4-get paycheck proof, 2-visa). Especially if he's only there for 2 years.

Has anyone here went through this already?...if so, can you tell me about your experience with the process and about how long it took for the spouse to actually get there?

Why pick her apart? Is it to justify her murder? Isn't the murder of a woman just that no matter anything else?

Doesn't every political leader or official have to do some sort of dealings with a foreign or domestic leader that they might be opposed to?

If so why when political officials do so, are they considered siding with the "other people" and are corrupt for doing so? When has a political official gone too far, and over stayed their welcome?

I mean think about, would it really be that bad to have a president for life who was a great as George Bush? I believe in democracy but I think I would support him if he decides to not leave office in 2009 (what if Hillary gets in, we can't have a terrorist running this country!). Think about all of the great things Bush has done:

-The economy is the strongest it has ever been

-He stopped Saddam from giving his nuclear weapons to Al Queda

-He fixed the education system in the United States

-He made the government more open and honest

-He made the military stronger than it has ever been.

-He made the Mideast far more peaceful.

-He saved hundreds of thousands of people's lives after Katrina

-He has stopped hundreds, if not thousands of terrorist attacks against the United States.

I could list a thousand other things but clearly he is a great president, probably the greatest, why wouldn't we want him for the next twenty or thirty years? We would be so lucky!
