Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
blue every Friday. The reason? Americans who support
our troops used to be called the 'silent majority' We
are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for
God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We
are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.
Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends,
simply want to recognize that the vast majority of
America supports our troops. Our idea of showing
solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and
respect starts this Friday

-- and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that ... every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something blue. By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every Friday a sea of blue much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in BLUE and it will let our troops know the once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is ...'We need
your support and your prayers.' Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear
something blue every Friday.

So will you wear blue every Friday?

I will and I am an American living outside of America. But I am proud to show my support and also my true colors.

Elaine MT I do know what it is like to support our troops, I am a veterans widow. I think my husband and I have given the ultimate. Thank you for your kind words.

To all of you out there who do not agree, that is your choice, but as a veteran's widow who is disabled, I do what I can to support our troops in many ways. I help families when their loved ones are over seas, I give what I am able to veteran's organizations, I write to military personnel of all services serving overseas. I don't just sit on my butt as some of you said. My actions speak louder than words. And I will wear blue or any other color that people want me to to show my support for our troops.

If you really want to support our troops who are fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan - write letters, send cards to them. Buy gift packages, calling cards, & send it to the soldiers! They need actual actions, not just wearing blue at home to show! I support our troops! but I do not think the blue shirt can do anything! This is not a bright idea. I know you tried very hard, but unfortunately, it is wrong approach!

How does blue help us really? Thanks for the support! I just don't understand the whole blue thing. Maybe if someone sold like blue t-shirt and the money went to the USO or soldier carepackages then I might understand a little. But just wearing blue will not bring us home.

No. That will do nothing to help them. It will only make people like you feel good about yourselves, and that you are doing something, when actually you are doing nothing. Most people have a blue shirt or blues jeans anyway.

Send them a care package, write a letter, volunteer to work with disabled vets, give a vet a job. Get off your lazy a$$

It's one thing to wear blue as a political statement but it's yet another to actually support and not just put on the show of support.

No I will NOT wear blue every friday..

One of my iris'(green eyes) has a circle of blue around it...does that count?

The green eyes counted on St. Patrick's Day...much to the assaulted amazement of the little boys who would pinch me for not 'wearing' green.....

Blue is a good color for this Friday outcry....

What a ridiculous statement and question. If you truly wanted to support the troops, get up off your butt and take all the magnets off your cars and VOTE for representatives that will BRING OUR SOLDIERS HOME!!!

Wearing a color means you support the troops? Geez. What a true American you must feel you are.

Yes! I will! I wear blue everyday!

Now those who don't, join the military, learn what is about! Or shut up!!!

I am a Vet and find your comments very insulting!

How about instead of saying you support them, do something to support them. Calling cards are always appreciated, as are cookies.
I apologize for implying that you should do more than just wear a color. It is hard to serve, and it is hard to be with someone who is serving. I am sorry about your loss.
