"Yeah, except you didn't post anything. I guess that tells a story."

Guess again. Look for a new post, not in this post. (Neo-cons)

Always did

Edit to above. Castro had Soviet backing for the longest time( after the bay of pigs debacle the US made an agreement not to attack Cuba with the USSR) and the US/ CIA supported and provoked a failed coup in Venezuela in 2002

And yes to your second question as well though that's obviously wrong and says more about the anti intellectual mindset of the people making that claim than about anything else.
“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” Hermann Goering

I don't think it's a "hating America" question, since there's been evidence that we've attempted to do so in the past and no reason to think we've stopped. Naturally, they're not considered "puppet regimes" -- they are governments amenable to cooperation with the US. Our government encourages those that will be on our side, with money, arms, and other forms of support, and discourages those that would possibly be counter to our interests, by providing money, arms, and other forms of support to the forces opposing them.

If people see this question as hating America it shows as little grasp of reality as your question does itself. Think this through. If the US had the power to install puppet governments around the world, than why are Castro, and Chavez still in power?

Certainly, any regime that follows orders from Washington is called democratic, and any that doesn't is called anti-democratic.

Also it is a great fear of the ruling elites that the common man/woman may begin to control their own affairs, therefore people-power is to be suppressed in every country, or it could spread, and eventually reach the USA.

Some will consider it hating America, others consider it facing reality. I wouldn't say they setup puppet regimes around the world, but if they can pull strings to get leaders in power amenable to their causes, they sure do try to. It's been that way for at least 50 years.

Attempt? The US has done this countless times in countless countries around the world. That fact is without dispute and as such would not qualify as 'hating America'. Sometimes it has worked to our advantage, many times it has not.

The US government does have a history of deposing excellent leaders who take good care of their people; and replacing them with evil dictators. And, the reason is simply because the good leaders will not play ball with large and thoroughly evil and corrupt corporations such as United Fruit Company, and the evil, corrupt dictators will. *sm*

Every empire needs to protect its interests. Because it is impossible to have its hand in everything, an empire needs to have "allies" that "are on the same page." It has been that way throughout history, and will continue to be that way.
