Thomas Jefferson made an interpretation of the 1st Amendment to his January 1st, 1802 letter to the Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association calling it a "wall of separation between church and State." Madison had also written that "Strongly guarded. . . is the separation between religion and government in the Constitution of the United States." There existed little controversy about this interpretation from our Founding Fathers.

Someone asked who Hillary may pick as her running mate if she gets the democratic nomination and I thought perhaps Bill except if the constitution wouldnt allow.Someone said she wonders who else can stand her besides Bill.
As for Obama, Oprah has already made it known she wouldnt accept that demotion, so who may he choose as a running mate?
Edwards has a good chance as well, any idea who he might pick as VP?

I hired a contractor to replace some dry rotted floorboards on my front porch. However, the alleged repair job doesn't look any better than what was there before. The boards are still uneven and warped. I phoned him to express my dissatisfaction and expectation that he would make things right. He said since his company was an LLC so I couldn't sue him, and that he wasn't responsible since he did not actually do the work himself. He had a relative and another man do the job. I think he's full of bulls**t and trying to put one over. The contract said the boards would be "repaired" but his definition of "repaired" is apparently different form mine. He's got my money and it looks like he just painted over the old boards and hoped I wouldn't notice. What should I do?

a white lady Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by 4 black men and a black woman.
Here is their pictures here. http://bp1.blogger.com/_c3WtQv44wGc/R2RMdmupwpI/AAAAAAAAAG8/Mc0kNWzWKMA/s1600-h/Reverse+Racism+1.jpg

The animals, pictured below the photo of the victims, car-jacked, then raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch.
Then they cut off her breast and put chemicals in her mouth ... and then murdered her. Where "be" the Revs Al and Jesse? Are they providing counsel and help to the families of the victims? Of course not - the victims were white.

now look. i am a black individual. but i DONT LIKE Al sharpton or Jesse Jackson because i think they are hypocrite. i hope that slowly, his words loose the power it has today.

this is unacceptable and disgusting. IT IS RACISM.

what do you think about the issue?

This is something Ive always wanted to ask those gun control idiots,

the government should pose no law what so ever on weapon ownership of any kind (except maybe the 1-3 day waiting period)

So, if you really want all the guns to be taken out of the hands of good law abiding citizens who use it to defend themselves, would you make it so that the 2nd amendment never existed and gun ownership was never an issue.

"You take the blue pill, the story ends and you wake up believing whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland...."

Those of us who educate ourselves as to the actions of our governments are continually labelled conspiracy 'nuts' or weirdos by other people.

Why do think this is? Are they the ones that are blinded as to the real world, or is it the reverse, are we the ones who are fooling ourselves?

At yesterday’s Deals & Deal Makers Conference in New York, Glenn Hubbard, the Columbia Business School Dean and former Bush administration economic adviser, argued in favor of a carbon tax.

http://blogs.wsj.com/energy/2007/06/28/hubbard-argues-for-a-carbon-tax/

Hubbard supports either a carbon tax or a carbon cap and trade system in which the carbon credits are auctioned off. He does not support a cap and trade system in which the credits are given away, because then the government isn't getting any funds from the process.

Hubbard basically feels that the government can redistribute funds from a carbon tax to reduce other taxes and have no net tax increase.

This is no liberal. This is a former Bush economic advisor who was instrumental in Bush's 2003 tax cuts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glenn_Hubbard_(economics)

What do you think about this conservative economist pushing for a carbon tax?

for the U.S. to increase its efforts to combat terrorism.

"Her murderers must be brought to justice, and Pakistan must continue the path back to democracy and the rule of law," Giuliani said in a statement. "Her death is a reminder that terrorism anywhere - whether in New York, London, Tel-Aviv or Rawalpindi - is an enemy of freedom. We must redouble our efforts to win the terrorists' war on us."

Question: Giuliani is so right about this ! u agree?

As I read the reteric (and sadly yes, do participate) between Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives, each claiming one is worse as President than the other, I'd like to read your opinion. Please give specific examples to support your statement of who is/was a worse leader, President Clinton or President George W. Bush.

I am (sadly) not surprised, but of course depressed at this news. Will the ways of the World ever change?

Are we slated for more and more and more violence? Will it never get better? Does this solve anything?

I'll take a moment to be more peaceful today, in my own life.
