Selective believing is nothing new. Everyone does it once in awhile. They believe only those scientists that fit their narrow views. All others are junk scientists.
This 5000 year old world is flat, I tell you it is flat as a pancake, right fundies?

When you put people into a category based upon limited observation, you are making a mistake in logic.
Me, I have not heard one "scientist" claim there is no global warming; ALL claim there is global warming. Some try to placate the oil interests, or the Chinese interests, or the Mexican interests (2 of the worst polluting countries on earth) because everything is political, but global warming IS A FACT. Meaning, how can "conservatives" claim to believe "scientists" who deny global warming?
Yes, the Bible says, "Let's create Man in Our image..." Evolution was a theory designed for one reason and one reason only: to further the goal of Humanists (atheists) who thought that with gunpowder, etc., Man was his own god.
Darwinism is not scientific; no one can prove that man came from amoeba!
I am very conservative; I believe in God (but not the way that preachers/priests tell people to believe); I read the Bible (Book of Mormon, Catholic, King James and other versions).
People are like sheep; all gone astray.
Right now, people in the U.S., no matter what their religion or political affiliation, worship Manna (money) and Liberalism.

It's quite possible that they pay or encourage certain "scientists" to say certain things.
It's also possible that some scientists simply don't believe ni global warming, and the politicians are using their findings for their own good (corporate pollution).
Some scientists have political beliefs that influence their study. Look up "Maciej Giertych" and see what I mean. He is a super-Catholic and believes that humans and dinosaurs were around at the same time. His son Roman is also a Nazi.

Many many scientists say Global Warming is real, and we don't believe them. The world has warmed 1 degree in 100 years. Whooptee doo. It's cyclical. Scientists have also said that the US was going to have two terrible hurricane seasons this year and last year. Where are the hurricanes? Science is not an "exact science". How many times do you heard doctors say coffee or some other food is bad for you, then 10 years later, it's actually good for you. You can't believe everything you hear.
As far as believing you came from a monkey, then you can believe that if you want to, but it's ridiculous to me. If we came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys left roaming the earth?
Look at John A's response. This is why Global Warming is being shoved down people's throats. Liberals want to hate corporations who make goods to make our lives better. Global Warming is a pure ant-capitalist agenda.

From what I've see, most conservatives DON'T believe what scientists have to say about global warming. I guess not so much what scientists have to say, but how the media and politicians interpret and skew what scientists report.
As for telling Christian Conservatives that they can't believe in evolution - it's been over a decade since the Pope acknowledged the validity of evolution, and said that it was perfectly OK for Christians to believe in it. Even if he did not, how one chooses to interpret the Bible is up to them - not up to your idea of how to persecute them for your perceived interpretation.

Intellectual Bullying
Disdain for intellectuals - Fascist society tends to create an environment of extreme hostility to critical thought in general, and to academics in particular.
Ideologically driven "science" is elevated and lavishly funded, while any expression not in line with the state view is at first ignored, then ridiculed, then challenged, and finally stamped out.
It is not uncommon for academics to be pressured to attack the work of their insufficiently patriotic peers. Writings are censored; teachers are fired and arrested. Free artistic expression in new works is openly attacked, and existing works deemed unpatriotic are often publicly destroyed.

We are created in the image of God in that we have a soul (spirit). It is not a physical resemblance.

there are a couple hundred "scientists" who believe that evolution is false. (biologists)
there are 7 or 8 scientists who deny human activity does not play any role in global warming (physicists, chemists, scientists, meteorologists, etc)
and a couple hundred who believe that global warming will not have serious consequences (physicists, chemists, scientists, meteorologists, etc)
there are also a couple hundred (physicists and structural engineers) who believe the WTC collapse was caused by controlled demolition....
edit
if you don't think conservatives are complete quacks - just look at gopaokays answer - this isn't uncommon - many actually believe that.

Global warming isn't real and evolution is definitely not real. Most scientists don't believe in either global warming or evolution, the liberal media just wants you to think they do so they can force their secular, socialist views on us. Think about, if they get all of their "environmental" agenda passed, they will destroy all industry and capitalism and be able to set up the unholy, communist state they always wanted.

By saying Global Warming isn't real, they can rationalize their support for corporations that pollute our planet for profits.
