Okay here's my situation: I was living in FL for a year and in the beginning of September my boyfriend at the time and I got robbed at gunpoint by our neighbor and a friend of his saying we had F*ed someone over and they were there to look for something. We had no idea what they weret alking about but that's beside the point. My question is, will I have to appear in court as the victim/witness? I'm not worried about doing it but I'd like to have an idea of what's to come for me in the near future when it comes to that. I live in TN now so I would have to go back to FL. Anyway, the guy is in county jail now and is awaiting trial. Someone please with some area of expertise help me with this. I do not want any stupid answers from people who want points. This is a serious question. Thanks.

Thanks Doc Man. So what do you suggest as far as my job goes? Are they required to give me time off to do this? Would it be the same as if it were jury duty? I'm so lost.

Okay. I've gotten some good answers here and I appreciate them greatly. Now I need someone to tell me if my job is rewuired to give me the time off to take care of this matter. Also should I go ahead and tell them about this and the fact that I may be called to appear? Or is it best to wait until I know for sure? Help me please people I'm so confused. Thanks a bunch!

As an american male I feel that if a draft took place women should be a part of it especially women who believe in equal rights. Women fought for equal right to vote, volunteer for the army, get equal access to federal funds and jobs, run for president and they have won it so they should be expected to protect the country that have granted them equal freedom. People say that because women are weaker than men that they should not be drafted but today's war is more technologized and when a man or woman has a gun or bomb their stronger than their opponent without it. Others say women should be excluded from going to war because of rape yet if you believe in that same logic america should ban women from leaving the house without the protection of a male since rape happens everyday.

Hillary Clinton is not even a native to Arkansas... but she still holds a majority of the donations from private citizens in the state.

Huckabee has a slim majority of donations (last quarter) in the very town he was born and raised in...

Hope, Arkansas Contributions This Quarter:

Mike Huckabee - $16,250 from 10 donors

Hillary Clinton - $13,000 from 7 donors
(which include ambulance drivers, pharmacists and a registered nurse!)

And also, who thinks USA is a terrible country in science?? Lots of people say they like the USA because they have lots of money. But truly, USA is a rotten country in science or anything else. And believe me, USA is going to fall in like a century and the European Union will rise once more... I hope so. I HATE the USA!!!

Was it for the good or bad? What changed?

I changed into someone who is more confident but confrontational and have a tiny bit of an explosive temper.

For the most part my change was for the bad. There was some good.

What do you guys think, would I fit in with the City of 'Greenville' SC? I know in New York, sounding English, well people would barely know, or care - as there are 100's of cultures/races/religions there.

I had vague ideas of going here you see, but some American people joke about 'Southern types' - saying the are inbred, and 'dumb', violent and unevolved. Surely this is just a joke, yes?

Are they so bad? Would being from England make me a target for racial abuse from whites as well as African Americans when they hear my voice? (well spoken English accent).

I'm hoping people don't care at all where you come from, or your voice, but a few people have said to me that South Carolina is 'worse than Texas' when it comes to reactionary views/behaviour.

So American people, please tell me that 'Greenville', SC, isn't so bad. Personally I like the diversity American offers, and I respect different cultures and want to engage with them - all races too.

Many thanks in advance.

I recently ran across my Granfathers military things, or atleast some of them, and it has really got me interested in his role in WW2. He died when I was young so I never got to talk to him about it, and my Grandmother doesn't know that much about it. Anyway, what I was wondering is; he has patches from the 8th Army, 5th Air Force, and the 41st Infantry Brigade. I don't know how the military gives out patches so how could he have all of those. I'm just trying to find out anything that I can about his service. Anything would help. Anything about these Units or about how the military gives out patches or anything.

Just what is it about Hillary that has made her the primary target of Republican mudslinging?

Q: What would be your economic policy?
A: Not socialism, unlike Hillary Clinton

Q: Who would you nominate as ambassador to the UN?
A: Not that b*tch Hillary Clinton

Q: How's your wife?
A: Sweet and submissive, unlike Hillary Clinton.

I mean, I could understand the neocon obsession with her if her record was that of a flaming liberal (ooh, how...progressive) but she's the most conservative democrat running, except for John Edwards.

What gives???
