The gloom-and-doom predictors of global warming as a consequence of man-made factors are in it for the money. They get government grants to study the effects of global warming. They get PAID to find something. So to keep the funding sources happy, they ... FIND something.
I have yet to see a "smoking gun" that shows meaningful cause and effect linking global warning to man-made gases. All the evidence I have seen points more to natural Earth temperature cycles. Does anyone know about the global cooling cycle that occurred during the Dark Ages? It surely WASN'T because someone over-cleaned the air to remove man-made pollution. So why should we attribute global warning to man-made pollution.
Don't hesitate for a minute, though, to think that global warming is not real. It is a real condition that (to my mind) is a natural part of Earth's natural cycles. Earth is NOT at a static equilibrium in hardly anything. Instead, there are ebbs and flows of energy this way or that. There are natural peaks and valleys in our temperature cycles. We are currently at a peak.
Now... before everyone out there goes nuts...
I still think it is a good idea to clean up the air. For HEALTH reasons. In the case of lung diseases, the "smoking guns" linking emphesyma and other such conditions to pollution HAVE been found. So there is still a valid reason to remove filth from the air. But it ain't global warming.

Yes. It is further proof that we live in a cyclical environment. There are always droughts, extreme high temps, extreme low temps, hurricanes, blizzards etc. somewhere in the world. It is also further proof that Al Gore etal are a bunch of crooks looking to make money by fear mongering.
ADD: To Massive man: I don't believe it but I do recycle cans because my kids use them for spending money. I do plan trips to save MONEY. What I object to is the sense of URGENCY the Global Warming crowd tries to sell. And BTW I do NOT know what my "carbon footprint" is, nor do I care since it is a fictional number pulled out of someones butt.

I get such a laugh when I hear this argument. Do you guys understand the difference between Climatology and Meteorology?
Predicting any single weather cycle is more like setting odds, while the study of global changes is mathematics. In other words, Meteorologists are bookies, Climatologists are actuarials

Global Warming is a bunch of crap. It is propaganda made to distract Citizens from truths of what our Government are doing. It is a cycle that happens. The weather is not man made. Tired of hearing stupidity about this tale. Al Gore should be ashamed of himself for his lies. And the people that are buying into the tale.

I think that laypeople, those without any science credentials, should stop making their own stupid theories about anything including global warming, a huge hoax.

Wow! I'm glad I didn't live a few million years ago, me and my little SUV (25mpg) would have been blamed for the Dino's demise.
Remember, Al Gore is a lobbyist for the private mutual fund he got involved with after his loss.

The catastrophic global warming hysteria is all about more government control and regulation. When concerning Kyoto and the UN, it takes on another facet, global socialism through wealth and power redistrubution.

the main problem with global warming is not hurricanes nor weather nor increasing tropical disease. The main problem with global warming is the fact that 2.3 billion people live on the coast and when ice over land melts this means they are in trouble.
i'm not sure what is so hard to understand about this- unless you simply deny science out right.
