Women should be drafted. My daughter is already in the military, so not to worry.

You have a good argument. I am currently undecided in the debate of letting women be in the infantry or other front line combat roles. Like you, I believe women that want equal rights also need to exercise equal responsibility, even if it means going to war. Then I also feel that the vast majority of women are physically inferior to men when it comes to the endurance and strength required in combat. But I see no reason to bar women from the draft since they can do support and supply roles in the military, like they do now.

While I agree that women should be subjected to a draft, were there one, you have a massive hole of FAIL in your logic regarding rape & war.
There's a significantly higher chance of being raped when a woman is on the battlefield than if she is taking a stroll down the road of any street in a peaceful country.
I just wanted to point that out. Yes, women should be drafted, but I can't blame them for not fighting for that "right". But I think Selective Service should be done away with anywho, but I don't make the rules.

Numerous law suits have been filed trying to get women various rights in the military, but the courts have referred them all back to congress, who makes the final decision. In spite of that, because of the changed nature of war, the increased use of technology, and because of the lack of a definitive war zone, most of the US military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan are in a combat zone. So women are protecting our country, along with men.
Since April 1993, US women have been eligible to be assigned to over 260,000 additional military positions than they had been in the past, many of which involve combat. About 80% of the jobs and more than 90% of the career fields in the armed forces can be filled by the best qualified person, whether male or female.
Since 2003, more than 155,000 women soldiers have been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Over 400 US women soldiers have been injured and 70 killed in these wars. Women have been in fire fights, under attack by mortar and rockets, taken hostile fire in the air, and had their helicopters shot down. American women are already in combat. There's no reason women shouldn't be included in selective services, if the draft is required.

The most recent draft bills (proposed by Democrats) included men and women, and did not permit attending college to be an exemption (like it was during previous drafts). The only exemptions were those with prior service or those attending military academies (West Point, Anapolis, et al).

Because that will be a sign that they want to see the ERA amendment come back. I am for this, but one of the arguments that I think kept it from passing it that women would have to join the selective service as men do. There are just girls out there that are not cut out for military service as men are.

HAHAHAHA, what a joke to even consider more than a tiny minority of women "fighting for the right....". Equality is NOT on the minds of most women, it is getting the most for the least. Most still want all the perks of the old system, but the pay and respect as though they are contributing in all fields equally. Ain't the truth.
I did not say all women, please note; there is a minority that can and do pull their weight. Most do not, and often can not.

They could easily fill in positions that require technicians, logistics, vehicles, air crafts etc..
Israel doesn't discriminate. Its whole populace is a ready to go military at a moments notice.

there are biologically determined roles for the genders - killing is not a female role. MOST women are not as capable of handling a combat situation as men are - and often become a liability in combat.

Um, because woman are excluded from front-line combat for starters, this is not going to change soon. Until then why, their is no need to draft them, ever! It would be wrong to consider it.
