So here i was going through some articles on Military.com and found this article; currently the US military is issuing the M4 carbine assult rifle as the standard for all combat troops. I thought this was a step up for our troops until i saw this report. http://www.defensetech.org/
Now just a brief summary of this; the aberdeen test center conducted a series of test in a dust chamber, consisting of putting 6000 rounds down the barrel of 4 seperate assualt rifles to compare performance and reliability.
Here are the results
M4- 882 stoppages
H&K-416 233 total
FN Scar mk16-226 total
and the XM8 the winner with 127 total stoppages.
The military's response to this?

"The M4 carbine is a world-class weapon," said Brig. Gen. Mark Brown, the Army's top equipment buyer, in a Dec. 17 briefing at the Pentagon. Soldiers "have high confidence in that weapon, and that high confidence level is justified, in our view, as a result of all test data and all investigations we have made."

I have some delinquint medical bills from the last 3 years of cancer treatment. Its not really a huge amount, but I am still unable to work, and barely making it on disability. The hosp sold the debt to a local collection agency. The collection angency keeps calling and wanting me to pay off in full. I dont have that kind of money, so I keep asking to set up a payment plan at 20 per month. That is an amount that I can afford.

However, they keep telling me they wont accept a payment plan of anything less than 75 per month. THey will accept my money ofcourse, but wont set my up on payment plan.

I have heard that that is illegal. Is this true? Or is there someone that can tell me where to find the laws about this?

Can a learning institution fail a student because of a mental impairment that was being investigated at the time that the course was being taken.
Situation: Someone I know was in a car accident and didnt know they had a concussion. Because of this, there was memory loss, where new information could not be retained no matter how much was studied and covered. They knew the information when they were covering it and grasped the concepts and was able to relay the information to other students in such a way that they could understand how to do it. But in the morning when she went to class, she couldnt remember any of it. After the end of the semester, she had gone to finish her neurologist testing, and it was discovered that she is having post concussion syndrome. Is there anything on the books that could help her if she were to appeal the grades she recieved (she failed nearly everything and she is typically a straight A student) to help her stay in her program of study?

I was wondering,if Ron Paul succeeds in getting rid of all anti segregation laws how will that not affect minorities? Are you telling me that schools in the deep south and major corporations will continue to embrace minorites with open arms? Are you telling me that as a minority such policies will not be detrimental to me, doesn't taking away all those laws meant to protect minorities give racists, bigots and prejudiced people all over america carte blanche to do whatever they want with impunity? Or do you truly believe that racism died in the seventies?

I always enjoy people who equate socialism with communism. According to these... uneducated people... Canada, France, Britian, Scandinavian countries, etc. are all communist if we follow their definition. Why must these people blatantly refute anything that is socialized? Many social programs are great! They are helpful answers to people who are in need, although they do get taken advantage of far more than they should.

I can atleast give credit to those people who claim that socialism is one step close to communism, as, in theory, it probably is... but I disagree that it will actually lead to communism.

I know the differences between something socialized, and communism. What does everyone else think? Be sure to justify your answers with more than just an opinion.. such as.. sources? Points go to those who use RELIABLE sources. :)

My ex-girlfriend and I bought a car together im the co-owner and we ended up breaking up, she said i could take the car cause she physically can not drive the car, and because my other car couldnt probably make it to denver from maryland, I drove to denver cause that is where my family is. When i got here i was expecting to have a job that was like two months ago i moved here, I just now got a job and am two months behind on car payments, at before i was left she said she would help with the payments until i was able to doit myself, but then she said she couldnt doit.. I told her i couldnt doit on my own so i thought it would be best to have the car voluntaraly repossesed and pay off the rest together. I really want to get rid of the car, cause i cant afford it on my own with having to also take care of my son, paying for daycare on top of everything else. I dont know what to do she was saying she was going to call the police and say i stole it cause i told her i was going to have it repossessed.. what can i do

Illegal immigrants in the United States get free food, free medical care, free educations, subsidized housing, & their children born here are automatic U.S. citizens. And it all comes at the expense of the hard working American taxpayers. I know that most illegal immigrants live hard lives filled with poverty, & that most of them are hard workers. It must be hard to be a poor Mexican man who can't support his family. But that doesn't make it ok to enter the US illegally. I can't condone their actions, & I don't feel sorry for them.

I was given a job offer for a fixed 3 year period in the form of a signed contract and I accepted it verbally, but did not sign it.. (The employer delivered it quickly, I verbally accepted it and my employer then drove away in her car.) The next day I handed in my letter of resignation to my previous employer, even stating in the letter where my new job was... and also showed my letter of resignation a few days later to my new employer. My new employer 10 days later coerced me into signing a new contract with a 6 month probationary period. My new employer then fired me within the probationary period. Did I have a first contract when I accepted it verbally and resigned my previous job? Is the first contract invalid, or valid? Must I have signed it, for it to be a contract? Also, the second contract did not recend the first contract. It has no recession clause deleting the first job contract. We are now in court with this and I would very much appreciate your help here.

Ok so last night my husband mentioned to me that for the last week every time he pulls up from work there is a white chevy Malibu parked across the street with there lights on shining straight at out house. When he pulls up he say that they turn off there lights and drive away a few minutes later. I didnt think much of it until I looked out the window tonight an low an behold its parked there again with its headlights pointed staight at our house. I'm trying not to be super paranoid but its crepping me out!!! My husband works LONG LATE hours and I'm at home alone with our 2 young kids. Am I making to much out of this? I know its not the police watching us because we are law abiding people who dont do drug, dont deal drugs, etc...LOL really though its no laughing matter I dont know what to do. I dont think I can call the police because nothing has technically happened but its still very creepy. What should I do.

How many true Americans here agree that the borders should be closed to protect American citizens from another terrorist attack?

How many of you agree that the HONEST way to enter America is through INS and not by jumping the gate?

Do you want to see another 9-11?

It is right for people jump the gate at the border and then work in America (with fake ID's) without having permission from the immigration department?

What's your intake?

As Congress flees Washington for the Christmas break, it is time to issue report cards for the new Democratic leadership. We could be generous and give them an “Incomplete” but an “F” would be more accurate.

Most striking was the Democrats utter failure to live up to the key promise of their 2006 campaign: “ending the war in Iraq.”

Guantanamo remains open and operational - F.

Federal funding of embryonic stem cell research - F.

Elimination of secret ballots for union elections - F.

Even the pettiest of goals --working five days a week -- could not be achieved - F.

Wouldn't pass an immigration bill - F.

Didn't secure the borders - F.

Voting rights for District of Columbia - F.

Renewed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act , after promising that they would not - F.

Unsuccessful in achieving items both small and large on their agenda - F.

This was not what the Democrats had in mind - or promised their Leftwing base.
