It all comes down to benefits. All branches have the same basic benefits; 30 days leave, free medical/dental, GI Bill, etc. The Navy has benefits that are solely Navy. World travel for instance. Other services will tell you that they travel and they do, but the Navy will visit ports for 3-7 days and then leave. The other services, you will be stationed there for your tour. Another is guaranteed jobs. Before you even swear in you will know what your job is, where it is, how long, what your job equates to in the civilian world and when you leave for bootcamp. That is all in black and white, no other service does that. With all this said, it all comes down to you. You can use these answers as a guide but don't rest solely on them. Good luck in your decision.

I think it really depends on what you are trying to get out of it. What are your goals? If you want to obtain a specific skill that will be transferable to the civilian work-force, then you need to research which branch is going to offer the best options.
If you are planning to make it a career then you need to talk to a few "lifers" in both branches as well as read as much as you can find on both branches.
Only you can determine which is better for you. I am a vet and I won't say which branch I was in but I will tell you that I went in with the intention of making it a career and realized early on in my 4 year enlistment that it wasn't for me. I learned a lot, met some great and not so great people and traveled to places I probably never would have gone to so I cherish the experience.
Good luck!

You should pick by what job you want to do. also you have to consider if you would like to be at see for months, or out on the field for months. You cant really say which is better becaue each serve a different purpose. I am for the Navy personaly, but thats just me! its totally up to you! good luck!

depends on what you want to do for a job. i spent 20 years int the submarine force and had the time of my life. i think there is more to do and see in the navy. but the airforce has better barrracks and living conditions. it all depends on what you want out of the experience. i would suggest going to their web site and doing some reading. maybe talk to some sailors and airmen on their take. if you do go in make the most of it and get everything you can both schooling and experience while you are in.

If you're a rocket scientist and want a great future go Air Force.
If you're a traveler/adventurer,want to see the world, and have a great future go Navy or Merchant Marines(like Cal Maritime Academy).
If you're a man with no direction but wants to kick *** and take names and have a great future as a lean mean killing machine, then go USMC.
If you want to make a difference in the war against drugs or Bush's Homeland whatever, go Coast Guard.
If you're a bumpkin, dumbass, felon, lazy, or just plain don't give a s#!t, then you can be all you'll ever be in the army.
