...then why does the media ignore this huge demand?

Isn't the main pupose of the networks to respond to consumer demand in order to increase ratings and therefore profits from sponsors? So why aren't the networks even TESTING this demand by covering the Iraqi occupation and conflict in-depth and extensively for once? Why aren't they showing the risque images and showing the soldiers that are coming home injured and criminally neglected the same government that encouraged them to join and made brought them into this situation in the first place? Why aren't they letting us know that most do not approve of Bush and would support a candidate that would bring them home? Don't you think all of these kinds of issues and controveries would make good television and a more balanced, educational, and more honest news?

"OTTAWA - Prime Minister Stephen Harper is warning Canadians to brace for fiscal belt-tightening as a looming economic collapse in the U.S. threatens to make waves north of the border."

"The government used up all its "fiscal room" in the fall mini-budget, which knocked another point off the GST and offered broad-based tax cuts for families, individuals and businesses.

"We did it very consciously. We didn't wait for the spring. We were concerned about the American economy and we thought we had to act quickly," Harper said. "We don't have big additional fiscal room now and there's nothing that's going to cause us to have big additional fiscal room between now and the spring, because even if things go reasonably well, they're not going to go so well that we're going to find ourselves suddenly overflowing with money again."

This was a statement made by the late Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru in one of his speeches.

But when the entire internal security system including the judiciary (judgement givers) and police(implementers) is being accused of corruption at all levels how can a common man even hope of implementing Nehru's statement.

How is it possible for the common man to survive and sustain in a system that has lost entire ethical base and accountability to the people and thrives on rampant corruption ?

There is also a feeling among some people that corruption also triggers terrorism what do you feel about this, is it true/false.

The question is mostly focussed on current Indian scenario but may be applicable to other countries accross the globe so please feel free to answer.

CNN ran a story about an Internet Hoax that led to a deadly shooting. A jury is now deliberating in the case of a 53 year old man who shot his son's friend. Not long ago, a Missouri girl committed suicide when an adult posed as a teen and badgered her to death. This is getting out of hand, and the Internet is turning into a Stalker's Playground. Hoaxes, jokes, intimidation, threats, bullying, bashing, lieing.....that can cause harm to innocent victims. How can this be stopped ?

Is it truly fair for people-who spend their time studying, going to college, and getting get good jobs-to have give up more of the money they earn then people with lower incomes, who spent their time doing pot, resulting now in a crappy minimum wage job?
I'm not trying to stir up controversy, I just have a strong opinion about this and want to know what others think.
BTW, I know it is probably much more complicated then what I am saying, but GENERALLY.

or someone link where Iran has stated that America is their arch enemy.

Y! likes to pass comments off like contained in this article:

'But analysts say that what appeared to be just another cleanup when it began last spring is proving to be a strategic effort to protect the regime from "vulnerabilities" that could be exploited by archenemies such as the United States.'

as if they were common belief. why is the media pumping up this confrontation, when it's obvious to anyone with a global perspective Iran just wants a seat at the table?

I personally don't care as long as the software works, and it doesn't need updates. If it does, their is usually a crack to bypass the online checks. If I can get the software for dirt cheap and save my self a couple hundred dollars in the process, why should I care if I bought legit software or not.

time after time I see/hear complaints from the righties stating---"it was 3 degrees today, so much for global warming", or "we had 24 inches of rain last week, global warming is a joke"

what these people clearly dont grasp is the fact that global warming as a theory, states quite clearly, that summers will be hotter, and winters will be colder---the seasons are predicted to get more severe.

feel free to criticize global warming theory, just make sure you dont admit your ignorant

I'm really excited about joining the Navy! I'm mostly concerned about continuing my education in the Navy while on active duty and having the Navy pay for it. I already have a bachelor's degree (in social work). I was wondering if any of you Navy people could answer my questions.

1) Would it be likely for me to earn an MBA (preferably not online) while serving four to six years active duty?

2) How has the college loan repayment program, CLRP, helped you? Is it a good program?

Thanks!

There is an employee who is writing down every move I make, what time I leave my desk, what time I came back, what time I go pee and reports it to the boss. It's illegal to video and audio monitor in the workplace without authorization from the person being monitored, is this the same for writing down monitoring?

I saw a quick clip of the newscast and didn't figure out what they were trying to accomplish.

Evidently the police are using tasers to keep them out of a city meeting that is supposed to be (by definition) open to the public...

When did we start living in such a war zone and what kind of SCREWED UP commission does New Orleans have?

"Third, we must move from an employer-based system to a consumer-based system, which will make health insurance both more affordable and portable, and thus more accessible. Our current employer-based system doesn't let the free market function because the overwhelming share of the cost is picked up by the employer, while the person actually using the system, the employee, pays only a small fraction of the bill and often doesn't even know what the total cost is."
