The next US President is going to have one helluva job putting out fires and handling thorny issues, that is a given. (The full extent of Bush's bungling is yet to show its ugly face, that's also a given.)
The third 'given' is that the world will not be satisfied if there is not a major change the US behaviour towards it and also a change of attitude on vital issues such as the environment, world poverty and business ethics. (Gore and Bill Clinton are ridiculed only in the US, and the subprime housing fiasco was spawned by American greed and dishonesty.)
The US is fast becoming irrelevant on the world stage.
Question: Which candidate is going to be able to lead the US back to being taken seriously and respected throughout the world again?
For those of you about to attack me for being un-patriotic, you are damn right.

Serious chemotheraphy, etc is called for.
