Hi. I found out from a friend that the Voters' Right Act is an Act that was passed by the federal gov't that basically gives African-Americans permission to vote. In 1965 Linden Johnson signed and passed the Act for 25 years, and then Reagan signed and passed it again for another 25 years. This Act was never made into law. By the end of 2007 the terms of this act are supposed to expire. President Bush has to sign the Act and 38 states have to agree with him. People need to contact senators, congressman and alderman and tell them that they want this Act to become Law. If nothing is done about this Act blacks can lose the right to vote. I'm black and I am outraged-if your black and American you should be too. I'm telling every black I know about this and I encourage you all to do the same.
Why was this Act was concocted in the first place?
This is racism and discrimination. Blacks are the only group that needs permission to vote. Does the US gov't see black Americans as a threat?

Would a lot of our crops start rotting in the fields? Some farmers claim this is already happening to them.

I know there are a lot of these questions being posted, but most of the answers I see are negative, and point only to why someone is a lesser evil than another.

I'd really like to hear positive input on why you're choosing the candidate that you're choosing...Not the reasons why you're not choosing someone else.

What policies does your chosen candidate have, that you agree with?

Since most of the money raised for elections is spent on TV advertising. Why can't we require that all TV stations in exchange for using the publicly owned airwaves run a certain number of ads for every candidate running. It would reduce the need to raise so much money if the amount of ads anyone could run was capped.

Even though he has lied a lot, much of George Bush's trickery and deceit are in the form of half truths, twisted facts, propoganda and bias. Can't you just admit that he has done this, maybe most of the time he does not flat out lie, but he DOES shamelessly bend and twist the truth to mislead Americans so he can go through with his agenda ? Do you believe intentionally and shamelessly misleading Americans is something a president should do?

Today, after meeting for hours to get a final reaffermation of his immigration stance, Tancredo throughs his support to another Republican.
Can you guess who got it?
And if you know please wait for awhile before blowing the question!! Pleaseeee!

You get your ballot sent to you a couple weeks ahead of time . This gives you time in the privacy of your home to research the issues and the candidates and then you simply mail in your ballot. I know many people are starting to vote absentee for this very same option in other states, but why not just use this method nationwide

I don't like to talk about "winning the war", because there really was no "war" to win. We went into a stable country, removed its stable government, and then all hell broke loose. For a long while, I would have said that we should cut our losses like we did in Vietnam in 1972. I would have said that there's nothing to be won here and that there's no way to win it. Things can be very bad with our participation or without our participation. Might as well be without it. But now, it really seems like things are changing, for reasons that are entirely unclear to me. Do you really think that the US military presence can return a stable government to Iraq? Or is this just a pipe dream? Can it really be done? Is it possible? If so, then let's stay and finish the job...

Total earmarks for the previous Republican congress were about $29 billion dollars. Democrats have cut that figure to between $10 and $15 billion (depending on who's counting).

Why were they able to do this, while the Republicans couldn't (or wouldn't)?

Tancredo dropped out of the race and endorsed Romney today, saying he's the best remaining candidate on illegal immigration.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071220/ap_on_el_pr/tancredo

Tancredo is of course a one-issue candidate, that issue being stopping illegal immigration. Tancredo is also the least popular Republican candidate in the polls.

Will having a hard-line anti-illegal immigration endorsement help Romney? Or will it hurt him to have the endorsement of such an unpopular candidate?

And why is Tancredo endorsing Romney as the best candidate on illegal immigration when until very recently, Romney employed illegal immigrants at his home?

Did the police lie and tried to frame this man...or did the handful of 'technicalities' go against them? They may have spun a few yarns, with the evidence somewhat flawed, but his DNA was detected on pieces retrieved by the police. Will Mr. Hoey remain in Ulster now he has been declared innocent, or will various political groups flare up. The families of the dead in Omagh are disgusted - surely they will want to see justice done, far from the white house of Stormont where the Chuckle Brothers reside (Mr. McGuinness and Dr. Paisley)...and the various law-houses of Ulster)?

I gave my neighbor all the contact information for the roofer, but he (my neighbor) insists that I'm responsible for paying for the detail he had performed on his car. I believe that since the roofer got the paint on his car (and later removed it), that any additional repair should be performed by the roofer, not by me.

Does the whole murder need to be planned out days or weeks before to constitute premeditation or can premeditation happen, say, 5 or 10 minutes before the murder?

And if it was premeditated 5 minutes before the murder, how likely would it be for the jury to return a 2nd degree or manslaughter verdict?

You are part of a nation that is fighting to survive against another nation that has invaded you, decimated your population and will soon subject you to a future of slavery.

If you keep up the fight the deaths might go into the millions. You have an opportunity to use an atom bomb. Is it right to use it? Does the end ever justify the means?
