NEW YORK - The Rev. Al Sharpton angrily denounced federal authorities Thursday for investigating him and his civil rights organization, suggesting that the Justice Department was retaliating against him for his civil rights advocacy

The FBI and the IRS are investigating Sharpton for tax fraud and possible campaign finance violations stemming from his 2004 presidential bid, according to a person familiar with the investigation. They also are investigating the National Action Network and several businesses he runs.

... that 4 years later we are still ignoring the genocide in the Sudan (darfur)

in American history books we recall the holocaust and we say never again

but as it happens again in front of our eyes we are too involved in Bush's own political war in Iraq

... at the highest level we don't seem to understand right from wrong ... and money, power, and corruption are spun into viable solutions

and the media gives us more coverage of britney spears ... why in such a clear cut case of genocide have we dropped the ball?

Ps. I'm not saying we should have gone over there guns blazing like we did in Iraq (yea, worst mistake our history) ... I'm saying we should have done more, and we should be doing more

Was just curious- do you see Northern Irish people who relocate to your area as immigrants as well?
Or do you see them as UK citizens also with every right to live within the whole of the UK?

How can liberals actually support this guy? He has only 2 years experience in the senate. He is for all intentions a state senator from Illinois. That qualifies him to be the leader of the free world?

What am I missing? Biden, Dodd, Richardson and Edwards all have more experience- even Hillary does. Are you even considering that his lack of experience could put the country in danger - ie he won't recognize a real threat when it stares him right in the face?

And this isn't about the Republicans, blah, blah, blh. I really want to know what the Democrats see in this guy.

I know I want to join the service, and I am sure it is the National Guard either, Army or Air. I want to go to college first and then serve, and I know I can get this in the Army National Guard, but can you have this option in the Air National.

I also want to know if the Air Force Reserves offers a college option first and then service.

Why aren't there any movies where say the Sherriff of Notingham imprisons and executes Robin Hood -- the wealthy-elite then celebrate with a fabulous meal?

Why aren't there any movies where a corporation is dumping their hazzardous chemicals in a local river and when the local population finds out, they are beaten down by a poluted court system and a complicit judge -- culminating with corporate excutives and shareholders celebrating with a fabulous golf outing.

Why aren't there any movies where an evil empire attacks a small, defenseless nation, destroys that nation killing a million of their citizens and then claims their natural resources for themselves -- culminating in a fabulous party of wealthy-elites celebrating on a big yacht?

They both: seem to want the US to lose in Iraq, are against jailing and interrogating enemy combatants in Cuba, want to pull funds from the military, dislike Israel, are against the Patriot Act, etc.
