How can liberals actually support this guy? He has only 2 years experience in the senate. He is for all intentions a state senator from Illinois. That qualifies him to be the leader of the free world?
What am I missing? Biden, Dodd, Richardson and Edwards all have more experience- even Hillary does. Are you even considering that his lack of experience could put the country in danger - ie he won't recognize a real threat when it stares him right in the face?
And this isn't about the Republicans, blah, blah, blh. I really want to know what the Democrats see in this guy.

Valid question.... I am not sure if I will be voting for him... but IF I did.. my main reason would be for all of the things you listed. I think it might be time we do have someone that isn't already preprogrammed.
Someone young and fresh.. someone who still actually believes.
But like I said, I have not made up my mind.

I'll start by saying I fully support Joe Biden and will be voting for him.
I have nothing against Barack Obama. His lack of experience does not worry me. I don't remember names or specifics, but he has a very strong set of advisors picked out for him. What I like about Obama (as well as Biden) is that I believe he can gain back respect for the USA from other countries.

Experience is important; but the issue of experience is not how much of it you have, but how you respond, react to, and use your experience. Bill Clinton did not have much experience when he was elected in 92 but he did good enough to get re-elected in 96. George Washington had no government experience and Abe Lincoln had less Illinois state legislature experience than Obama, and about the same Congressional experience (he was in the House, Obama is in the Senate) as Obama.
Take a look at Cheney, Rumsfield, and Gonzolez; they all had years and years of experinece but look how well they have done at their jobs.
Again, it is not the amount of experience that you have, it is what you learn through those experiences. Some people have tons of experience but they dont take anything away from their experience because they don't think that there is anything left for them to learn.

Baracka Hussein Obama,Jr., a closet Muslim, now an apostate and / or murtadd (one who has turned his back on Muslim beliefs) ethier, Hussein has violated Sharia (Muslim religious law),an offense punishable by death. If only voters would research on the Web re Hussein Obama's past and record, they would be shocked to find he is a complete fraud. Hussein Obama is a pathological liar, specifically re all of the financial matters and real estate "deals" with Tony Rezko (now under indictment for illegal campaign financing), a Chicago real estate developer. Fact: Hussein Obama paid $ 128,000.00 for a lot which Tony Rezko's wife had purchased for over $ 500,000.00. When Obama was occupying an office in the Illinois legislature, Tony Rezko was filling his pockets. Obama claims he is against accepting money from big business and lobbying (bribers), when the facts show Obama accepted over 25 trips on corporate aircraft when he was in the Illinois legislature. Obama claims he is now a Christian and has "never" been a Muslim, when the facts show he was registered as a MUSLIM by his parents when attending the public school in Indonesia. Obama was also registered as his religion being MUSLIM, when registering in the Catholic schools in Indonesia. Obama claims he never kept records when he was in the Illinois legislature, and subsequently claimed he doesn't know where the "records" might have gone!! Any contradiction there??? The list goes on and on. Please voters, research the Web, as the information is there, well documented. Obama is a disgrace and has dishonored the American flag on two separate occasions. By Hussein's refusal to honor our flag , he has sent a message of loyalty to Mid-East Muslim countries. By making stupid and naive remarks such as, "never using a nuclear attack against our enemies, specifically Iran" sends the message the Islamic terrorists want to hear. Hussein Obama is much more than no experience, he is naive and dangerous to our country and to the American culture. Obama is the greatest fraud to ever surface upon the political scene. If this callow man should ever occupy the oval office, the only fat lady singing will be Oprah Winfrey.

I understand what you are asking, and I thought the same as well..then I had to consider what we have been dealing with for decades..Career politicians who are in the pockets of lobbyist and special interest groups who bring our government to a grinding halt over partisan politics rather than doing the right thing. It might actually be a good thing to have someone more like "US" real people that have not been immersed in the corruption of Washington. As long as he surrounds himself with good, experienced people, and uses them and sticks to his convictions and strength of character, he may actually be good for this country.
p.s Bush only had 5 years Governor experience when he decided to run for President (his family however has been entrenched in Government and Washington corruption for generations

He was editor of the Harvard Law Review, that's no small task, he was also a community activist and State Senator. He's got more than enough experience.

Perhaps the question should be, why would we support the others?
Experience isn't necessarily the best thing, it leads to right wing, which isn't what America needs.
Hilary has only a small amount more experience than him, don't confuse Bills CV with hers.

I support Obama because he is smart, able to think on his feet and was absolutely correct in his belief from the get go that Iraq was a frigging mistake that Herr Bush lied us into.
I hope to Hell that he is our next President. He will be better than any of the Republican candidates who are so tied up in who is the most religious that they forget that we are a nation that protects free thought and protects whatever religious beliefs that one has.

It's all about how the media controls the news and the opinions of the voters. He is controversial so he gets alot of coverage. The polls show that Edwards can beat any Repub but he gets very little coverage. The news is slanted and biased.

He has some good ideas and an excellent voting record. He is worldly and sensitive, and his election might restore US credibility abroad.Look at Bush and what a disaster he is despite all his experience
