I'm a Mexican citizen and was recently in the USA, and I couln't believe what I read on the papers or listened to in the media. It seemed to me that the US government and the US media are creating the image that all mexicans are trying to go to the US as if we were some sort of blood-sucking parasite.

I agree that a lot of mexican scum and cockroach-people from mexico (and other countries, throught Mexico) go to the US. But there are a lot of Mexican citizens that are not familiar with the immigration problem in the US.

What is your opinion?

by English law we have the presumtion of innocence until proven guilty. Written into the constitution only a judge or a magistrate can impose a fine so therefor how can you be fined other than by a court

The man is a bona fide Canadian hero, and was awarded the first-ever Star of Military Valour. http://www.army.forces.gc.ca/lfwa/valour_tower.htm

I'm very happy Canadian Forces recognized him, but why deny him the honor of becoming the first Canadian awarded the VC since WWII?

The New Zealanders recently awarded their first VC in over half a century for an act which, though courageous and worthy of the honor, was no more so than that of Sgt. Tower. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10482443

Is this simply another instance of Canada trying to downplay its Commonwealth roots and establish itself as more "independent"? If so, I think it's misguided in the extreme.

I have to use Medco for prescription drugs through my healthplan at work. When i was first covered, they claimed they could not cover Effexor and there was no generic, so they suggested a 'similar' drug, which of course was a name brand, Cymbalta.

They arent similar, the ingredients are totally different. I did research after the fact and found that YES Effexor does come in generic (even at the time I inquired about it). I had a terrible experience with Cymbalta, even going to the ER once.

Is Medco liable for any of this? They flat out LIED to me. Maybe i should have done my due dilligence first, but i didnt think the company would lie. I guess i was too naieve.

Remembering of course by now Hitler would have been long dead anyway and most political regimes or philosophies have changed in the last 60 years on their own (fall of communism in Russia, rise of it in China and end of isolationism in the US).

Would there be a reasonable world to live in today?

According to several southern Baptists I know, one of them being a minister, there's a Biblical passage which I, myself, have read about Noah being drunk, sleeping in a tent. His son Ham entered the tent and "knew" of his drunken father. God punished Ham for this by making his descendants black.
Would this be fair for Romney to discuss, or is it off limits to point out Biblical roots for racism and slavery?

But that's what Republicans apparently think of Rudy.

Too liberal?

I lived in his city when he was mayor, and other than him wearing a dress and having a public affair, there wasn't much about Rudy that was 'liberal'...

Dictatorial is more like it, and smarmily corrupt. You'd think the Republicans would like those two qualities since it's what they usually elect.

Go figure...

To anyone who believes that a child born in the U.S. to an illegal alien is also illegal and/or should not automatically be a citizen.

My great-grandfather entered the U.S. using a false name to defraud the immigration authorities, whom he believed would not allow him to enter if they knew who he really was. Assume that this deception was illegal and made him an illegal alien. (This happened approximately 100 years ago and I am not sure what the laws were then.)

Which of the following are true:
a) Because he entered illegally, his son, my grandfather should also be considered illegal and/or not a citizen.
b) Therefore, that son's son, my father should also be considered illegal and/or not a citizen.
c) Therefore, that grandson's son, me, should also be considered illegal and/or not a citizen.

How far does this go? If someone's ancestor, prior to 1776, illegally entered the colonies, would they be illegal or non-citizen today?
