depends on the movers and if you are going OCONUS. OCONUS they will NOT ship opened liquids like shampoo, lotion or pantry staples.

CONUS 99% of the time they will, occasionally you will get an anal packer who won't. Non perishable pantry items are fine..although I do advise sealing open containers of pancake mix and the like with packing tape. I also recommend placing some plastic wrap between the screw cap and the container on liquids.

I find it ironic that I live right outside of McChord AFB so that means you're about 2 miles from where I live as I answer your question! 1) No, they are not going to pay for you to go back to Michigan. 2) Theres a very good chance instead of giving birth at Madigan, you'll either go to Tacoma General (Good Hospital) or Saint Joe's (Good Hospital) or possibly Saint Claires over in Lakewood right off Bridgeport Way (Not sure how good they are) 3) You should be getting in contact with the Fort Lewis Enlisted Wifes club- I'm sure they could provide you with all sorts of good solid information- I doubt you're the first woman to ask these questions. 4) Hundreds of years ago- back when it was Camp Lewis- and my wife and I had a daughter- we had the Mother in Law fly in to help a week before the delivery, and she stayed two or three weeks after the birth of the daughter to help. Hope that was of some help

They might not do the lotions or the shampoos because they could leak. The other stuff they should. I would advise to prepack in in ziplock bags just in case.

If you are not sure call and ask the travel office just in case.

The Navy shipped my stuff like that, so I can't see why the Army wouldn't. When you set up your packout just ask what can and can't be packed out.
