Our health care system operates on the free enterprize system. The Mediciad system is run by the government. If one cannot afford health insurance, you do without or you get medicad. Doctors and lawyers in our society are usually well off. Doctors make alot of money because they charge alot. Lawyers go after doctors with malpractice lawsuites and get enormous settlements or judgements and this raises doctors insurance rates which is passed on to the sick. Many doctors have come to this country from Pakistan and India and elsewhere that has caused problems as well because they are not all honest. There are many doctors that commit froud to make more money. The whole system has been corrupted to the point that greed has taken over. There needs to be a very high degree of transparency in the medical profession. Cameras in the operating room. Cameras that record the whole prosess from the appointment to the pharmesy. There needs to be stiff penalties for doctors that commit fraud. People also need to be responsible for their own health. People who smoke, or eat bad food and don't exersize regularly should be charged more. Illegal aliens take up alot of time and money in the emerengcy rooms around the country. There is an estimated 20 million of them in the country so you cn imagine what that costs. I broke my arm and went to the emergency room in Austin, Texas and had to wait 2 hours behind 30 illegal aliens of which none had a broken arm or anything that was what one would consider an emergency. So I have first hand experience. Which candidate can fix this? No one person can do it. Clinton has the traditional approach; government funds it and controls it. That will give us the 6 month waiting periods to get a cavity filled. No one else has a real plan. This is why people should understand that we all need to see the truth and not be misled. We are dieing everyday in Hosiptals all accross this country from simple neglect. In America an American will be allowed to die simply because they are broke. I can get your grandmother, grandfather, you mother, your father, and you. We are all one sickness away from the truth about what America has become at the hands of the greety and corrupt. There are great doctors out there that truly want to help people but they are under constant attack by insurance companies and lawyers and people that go into the medical profession solely to get rich. To fix this situation will take everybody.

All the other modern countries have some form of national care, the problem is that in the US, we turn everything into bribes, graft and stealing; if you knew the level of fraud in the Medicare and Medicaid programs you would be sick, one small company in Florida made false claims over 100 million dollars, but it's easier to blame the poor, single mothers and children for the problem. The real problem is that crime pays in this country, the headlines scream for a couple days about fraud, they pick some fall guy, who does two months in a half way house, and the thieves move on with the cash. This entire system is a cartoon for the rich. John Edwards and Hillary Clinton have provisions in their plan for catastrophic disease, go to their websites. The plans aren't 'popular' because the insurance and medical industries control the airwaves with their advertising.

clinton's well being care plan has a huge subject with it. The section the place some those with jobs who're suffering and can't pay $900 a month to have scientific insurance could face penitentiary or different fines and outcomes in the event that they dont get insurance as her plan compels them. In different words the wealthy are dealt with reason they dont certainly need help. The poor are dealt with, however the working guy or woman who's somewhat getting by using will face penitentiary or fines in the event that they cant cope with to pay for insurance. The obama plan is designed to decrease the cost of well being care and scientific insurance so as that its less complicated for all people to deal with to pay for it. If forces no one to could purchase, yet extra people would be insured reason insurance would be low value. The clinton plan shows that she is in cohoots with the well being and insurance profiteers because it does not concentration on reducing expenditures (and revenue). The obama plan shows that he's certainly attempting to help the working people...and develop the equipment for all.

Health care is expensive, especially so in the U.S. We have overpaid doctors, malpractice insurance etc. to thank for this. Even if we had a national health system, like the UK or Canada, someone would have to pay, and our taxes would go up to cover the cost. Americans are not fond of paying more taxes, nor of anything that smacks of socialist practices. We tend to want for ourselves only and not for others.

I do agree with you about the high cost of illegal immigrants. Many cite that most unpaid ER visits are made by legit residents, but they fail to account for the unpaid medical bills outside the ER. Personally I have a problem with anyone having Medi-Cal, because I've seen too many people manipulate their finances in order to qualify. If you can't afford to pay for your own medical costs or insurance AND THAT OF YOUR KIDS, don't breed and get an education so you can afford to do so.

As for kids coverage, if you're low-income there are state plans that cover kids. as a person who has gone long periods of time with no health insurance at all, I can attest to the possibility of doing just fine by using $40 clinics and state preventive programs (pap smears, mammograms, etc). I'm fortunately healthy, and also feel that many diseases can be avoided or fixed by living right.

It wasn't to long ago that you could go to the doctors and pay $20 for the visit. Then the government got involved in health care, now you pay over $100. Do really want the same people that run the IRS, protect our borders, check the food and toys coming into our country for us, maintain our federal highways and bridges to be in charge of your health. Everything that the federal government gets involved in is so mismanaged that it always cost 10 times more than it should. I didn't work for 3 years and had no money coming in. I got an Acces card from public assistance, and that was the best insurance I ever had in my life. Don't tell me the poor are not insured.

Honey, people do not agree with Hillary or anyone else because they think they have the best plan. I'm not sure if anyone can fix the health care in this country. If they can it will be a long drawn out deal. It won't be fixed over night. I do like that Hillary is trying though.

Nobody can figure out how to pay for it. Seriously, it has a three trillion dollar price tag just for the first year.

Denmark has a plan that might be more workable, but even that would cost two trillion or so.

Sad thing is, almost everyone in the country would benefit from some sort of national plan, but nobody can figure out how to pay for it without taxing the middle class into poverty.

Anything that might benefit the people of America from chaos is usually argued until the stupid people give up. We need to be stronger. 1-20 persons in Washington have aids. We have baby boomers who need medical assistance . We have a housing dilemma. Who will help us if we do not begin to agree on our needs.

It is not popular because most people realize that it will be coming out of the pockets of the hardworking people who work in America ( that number is getting smaller as we write)

Why should the government give us health care??? Besides it would be lousy health care insured! The Feds only know how to do the job the most expensive and least efficient way!

Cut federal government, Cut taxes,
