All I ever hear from the cons is "Oprah" this and "Black" that...

Perhaps Obama is just a really great candidate and Republicans are jealous because they only have supports like Mel Gibson, Halliburton (the company that left America) and that fake christian karate guy...

What do you think?

What do you think, Iran wants to cause instability & chaos, but who has already caused instability and chaos?
I have noticed a pattern that some people keep playing the card that something bad is going to happen, but meanwhile they have already done what they say others will do in the future.

Lets consider this headline: Iran plans instability and chaos. That may even be true, but how is it that Iran can cause instability and chaos in Iraq or how can we look at them unfavorably for it, while ignoring those who have already caused and are actually responsible for instability and chaos that goes on as we speak?

It almost sounds like someone is saying "we can do whatever, and cause instability and chaos, and mayhem and carnage, etc...but if someone else dares to try to do it, then that is not to be tolerated". The word that comes to mind is Hypocrisy.

Here's the deal: My husband and I rehabbed a house in the spring and sold it to a cop. Well, about a month ago, she called our home (which I find very invasive since we never gave her our number) and told us that we needed to repair all the plumbing since it was now shot, even though her prior inspection approved it. Now, she is a cop and said that since we didn't have permits, if we didn't pay her she would report us to the city, which would cause us to have a flag by our name for future rehabs. She also threatened a lawyer. In the end, after we considered legal, we just payed her the money only after she verbally promised that she would not call us again. Well, of course, today she called and left a message saying that she needed to talk to us. My husband and I are consulting a lawyer on Monday and not calling her back until then. Plus, I recordered her message from my machine just in case. Now, my main question, is this extortion? Any advice would be helpful.

They seem to think that if they keep saying that Iran has the ability to build nuclear weapons that they are going to, wasnt it said that Iran stopped nuclear weapons development in 2003...so where are they getting their information from that they are still pursuing nuclear weapons programs? I honeslty believe that this current administration wants to put this country in such a quagmire that it will take 20 years for this country to recover from. Either that or Bush wants to invade all the middle eastern countries and from what I gather its not to search for the taliban.

He or she was the most qualified person for the job? Let's say this person is a genius on all matters concerning our nation, and was well repsected by every other nation in the world. The candidate has all the right answers to fix every problem we have to deal with, and were this person religious you wouldn't hesitate to vote for them. Would you still refuse to vote for that person if he or she was an atheist or agnostic? Please explain.

I've been doing some research on military bases because my love and I will be living near a base when he completes his Infantry Training early next year. He tells me that they will find out their permanent assignment in January. For example; Ft. Riley KS is on the prairie where there is a notorious tornado problem. If you are driving and a tornado is approaching what do you do? I'm from CA and just learned how to drive in May. In fact my husband (then boyfriend) both learned together and we got our licenses the same day on Friday before our Prom. I'm still a little nervous about driving but actually I'm trusted enough by my mother in law to pick up Jamie's little sister from her after school program and my own brother from his middle school. They let me use one of their cars because I'm staying with them. My dad has been taking me out on the freeways on Sundays to practice but I can literally "FEEL" his fear lol lol. It snows near a lot of bases. How do you drive in the snow?

if in 90s the Rwanda genocide was happening under your watch?
(NOTE: THIS WAS ASKED EARLIER TO THE NIGHT CREW)

Curious to know for several reasons...
Many of you are so quick to condemn the thought of invading another country (which I understand...it is a legitimate position)

Some of you might take the easy way...and say let's do diplomacy...or let the U.N. take care of it. (which is another way of saying let's avoid the problem...I don't want to deal with)
BTW...diplomacy witin the U.N. was tried...as a result over half million died in 90 days.

So my question is a very strong philosophical question...WHAT WOULD 'YOU' DO?

(Disclaimer: I don't like Bill Clinton but this question is not a hit against him..because who knows what anyone would do in his situation. I acknowledge that being President of the United States is no easy feat)

I have some overtime coming to me on my next paycheck... I know a few people from here who have worked overtime, except they didn't get paid for it. What the boss did was apparently pay them their regular 80 hours (2 weeks) pay and then gave them a seperate check. On this seperate check was their regular wage, for the hours overtime they worked. No taxes taken out.

I'd like to do this the legal way and also not get screwed out of money, and get a real, legal overtime check. If I do get this kind of illegal overtime check, how do I confront the boss without him getting mad, and without getting fired? (people have brought up the idea that it might upset him and make him fire me if I question his ways)

Some other minor points about the boss and my job: The boss used to be a cop, so I THINK he might have some sort of respect for laws and our legal system, hopefully. Also a lot of non-English speaking people work here, so I think this illegal overtime thing is to screw them out of money since they don't really understand? He's said before things about giving them the jobs that they "can handle" and "understand" so maybe he assumes they won't question this under-the-table way of paying overtime.
