The difficulties with the Janjuweed and other organizations certainly deminish the ability for Sudan to be seen as a legitimate country and it probably would not be allowed membership to the UN if it wasnt already a member. There is no sustainability, hardly a functioning government, and the economy is either collapsing or on the verge of it. The oil rights differences between the north and the south of Sudan have caused this struggle and until the governement can control the struggle over this oil, it will continue to have developmental problems.

Sudan must first solve the problems in Darfur so that it could qualify as a member of the United Nations.
