WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. homeowners who could face crippling mortgage payments will have a hard time getting help if they call a telephone number President George W. Bush recommended on Thursday -- he gave them the wrong number.

Does anyone remember when a White House Official gave the wrong website on live TV. He said whitehouse.com instead of whitehouse.gov

Whitehouse.com is a porn site.

I was online that day and went to the .com website, within minutes it was beseiged with visits and went into overload and was not accesible.

On live TV (I was watching CNN) they made the announcement and apologized shortly after.

Does Bush's error surprise you?

“Beacon Hill Institute and Dr. Kotlikoff estimate the FairTax base for 2007 to be $11.244 trillion.” www.FairTax.org I just now read the 2006 paper analyzing HR-25 and using some 2006 GDP reports. The BEA website does not keep older estimates, and the December 2007 estimate does not match the paper. The tables that the professor cites, i.e. 5.4.5B and 2.4.5 to name a few, are not in the December 2007 report. Is it not risky to base one's analysis and policy on a single information source and not check individual figures against alternative sources in industry or the government or against more recent information? The paper actually using economic data from 2006 analyzes the 2005 Act intended to be inacted in 2007. Because we are in 2007 and the 2007 Act is designed to be implemented in 2009 at the 23% rate, the economic assumptions may have shifted, which may account for my differing calculations and apparent shortfall in revenue.

ok no i am not going to give out a dealers number but i have a problem.
i was reading about questions about drugs on here and thought someone might have the answer.
i got of drugs in the last few weeks and cut off every single girl friend and guy i knew who had anything to do woth tat stuff.. to be polite... i chnaged my tel number and did evrything i was adviced to do i binned my old phone and my old diary.
thing ios one of my dealers has had the same number for must be nearly ten years. i know it in my head back to front and it just sits there like a temptation. now i know that doesn't mean i have to call it but does anyone know how i could get it cut off? i reckon that the police would say i was making serious accusations and at most monitor it. i was thinking of sending the number to newspapers like notw so that maybe the reporters would make it so hot he would have to change it. any ideas? 1 link left 2 destroy. i'm scared as well as if they no it was me.. they r dangerous

I have always been a conservative, though I don't support our current administration. I have noticed that conservatives constantly call liberals' patriotism into question. I do not see liberals accusing conservatives of being unpatriotic nearly as much. Do I have to support a war that is, in my opinion, unjust and support a president I believe to be unfit in order to be a conservative? Must I blindly follow any leader who is conservative? Does it not make better sense to try to understand both sides than to paint everyone who is against the war as anti-American? I still strongly disagree with the vast majority of liberal ideals, but I don't believe liberals to be evil, nor do I think they support their country's enemies. Watch how opposing politicians interact. Most seem to be friendly, if not down-right chummy with their adversaries. Do you think this is disingenuous or do they simply learn to leave their jobs at the office?

... are all getting "killed" by the price of corn.

For example, 80% of a hog's diet is from corn.

Yet, Dems have caused corn prices to double over the past year with their demands that we use ethanol.

Poor people around the world are starving because they can't afford to see prices for things like corn double.

And, the American breakfast is getting nailed too.

Yet, we've only just begun to use as much ethanol and farm land as Dems insist that we use for energy.

Is it good to take away the land that is needed to feed the billions of people in the world?

The intelligence provided was gathered while Clinton was President and Bush spoken the EXACT words of Democrats when presenting the proposal of force in Iraq.

I read slanderous remarks here daily and wonder if we would not be better served to prosecute those that commit the crime. I am a proponent of free speech but not of malicious slander and libelous statements that are unsupportable.

I filed a claim with OSHA about my place of employment being unsafe. I chose to excercise my right to remain anonymous. OSHA then sent a letter to my employer stating the allegations. However at the top of this letter, OSHA put the company name with my address under it instead of the company address, thus revealing my identity. I feel my rights have been violated. Is this grounds for a lawsuit or any other legal action? Please answer if you have legal background. Thankyou
