All I ever hear from the cons is "Oprah" this and "Black" that...

Perhaps Obama is just a really great candidate and Republicans are jealous because they only have supports like Mel Gibson, Halliburton (the company that left America) and that fake christian karate guy...

What do you think?

The Republican Party today is the party of smears and dirty politics, the 'politics of personal destruction'. If someone famous endorses a Democratic candidate he or she becomes the target of Republican slime. That's just how they work.

So if Oprah comes out for Obama, Republican pundits and mouthpieces in the right-wing media will spend time speculating on her motives, the less-than-respectable ones. Was it because Obama's black? That's racist! Did Obama promise her something if he gets elected? That's corrupt. Is it because she's a woman and he is undeniably very good looking? Then its because women are weak and emotional and easily swayed.

Of course if Oprah had come out in favor of a Republican, then her motives would be only the best ones, that she wanted a candidate who would institute good government, bring back her pride in America, etc. etc.

I think you need rethink what freedom is. I think you need to do a lot more research.

The Fairness in media Bill that Democrats keep trying to pass is all about limiting freedom. See the 3 links below. Included in this Bill is a mandate (opposite of freedom) for equal time to opposing points of view.

What this Bill would do is to have the government take over where the market place has acted and acted loudly. Conservative ideas sell in the market place. Advertisers are only willing to sponsor TV and Radio shows that people listen to. That is why there are limited liberal radio talk shows.

When I go to one of the handful of towns that airs AIR America, I turn it on to hear an opposing point of view. I try to listen but Al Franken, Janeane Garafalo and whoever else might be on are just sooooo boring. I can only last about 20 minutes of it before I want to drive my car off of a bridge.

When the original fairness doctrine was in place until 1987, there was very little conservative talk radio. Conservatives until then did not advocate stifling Liberal radio, they merely wanted more freedom for all. Once the Fairness Doctrine ended in 1987, that is when Radio changed.

It was the Conservatives that wanted freedom to speak and it is them who still seek that.....

I would be surprised if you could provide even one legitimate source proving that Republicans want to deny Oprah the ability to support who she wants.

I think sadly there is a lot of hate in America. People are becoming so petty. It doesn't matter why Oprah is supporting Obama. It is her right. She doesn't need anyone's permission and she certainly has the money and power.

I think Oprah is capable to make her own decisions, and really does any of it matter?I don't care if you are lib or con none of this stuff matters,it is just political mudslinging 101,do your selves a favor and stick to the real issues, not this tabloid crud.

I think you are being silly. Republicans are not anti-freedom. I don't care who Oprah supports. I will not vote for Obama because he is a liberal. He is way far to the left of main stream Americans.

I think Oprah supporting Obama pretty much clinched it for the GOP. If there was any doubt that he is being pushed because of his race alone, there isn't anymore. Yep, Oprah did more harm than good. Repubs are smiling behind your backs. ;)

Of course not!!! Its the dems that are trying to pass a bill making it a crime to speak against speaking out against the presidency and the war! Oprah is no politician and I really wouldn't care if she came out for Hillary! That she can choose that is another liberty Ron Paul will preserve!
