With all the evidence out there, republicans and conservative are still convinced that global warming is made up and it doesnt matter if our children or our children's children have to really suffer from the effects of global warming. Why is that?

Because it would hamper their life style. They would have to stop driving Hummers and might have to pay more in taxes. They don't mind if their children suffer as long as they don't have to. A good example is the fact that Republicans like Bush's war in Iraq so long as we borrow the money from our children to pay for it. If taxes were raised to pay for their war, it never would have started.

I saw a documentary, last year, involving many scientists & the majority said global warming is a fiction.
They gave figures of weather patterns such as flooding, glaciers melting, the north & south poles changing, rainfall, sunshine hours, wind, everything to do with weather, for centuries. They can prove this, even with migration of people over the centuries. The weather is cyclic & the end result of the documentary[debate] was global warming is not a scientific phenomona, using the global warming theory.
One scientist said it is purely political & will cause an increase in taxes & world inflation, economically.
I am sorry I cannot remember the name of the documentary.

A huge part of it is that Al Gore is the messenger. John McCain acknowledges that global warming is real. What disturbs me is that people that have absolutely zero experience in global climatology are just saying "I don't believe it so it isn't true", which is logically absurd, and possibly dangerous - maybe even fatal, to their grandchildren. The evidence is overwhelming - the real question is "what do we do now?" This is an unfortunate case of science being politicized, and it shouldn't be - this is way more important than mere politics.

The true questions :how much global warming is caused by man and whether there are things that can or should be done to reduce the impact of global warming.

No one is even trying to address that. BTW, weven Bush acknowledges that man made global warming is occurring.

They get their info from conservative news sources that preach the gospel of global warming as a liberal hoax. Some do believe that global warming is a problem, but they are not convinced that we can do anything about it without seriously damaging our economy and hurting our citizens. You have to admit that some of the liberal solutions to the problem are going to hurt our economy, cause inflation, and have an negative impact on our lives.

The way to appeal to conservatives on this issue is to present solutions that will not hurt the economy, will lessen our dependence on foreign energy, and will lessen pollution. Do that and you will get many conservatives on your side. But don't talk about carbon credits and that nonsense.

Conservatives (as a political party) are the most aggressive representatives of the wealthy-elite. Their massive fortunes and their future massive incomes are dependent upon the continued raping of the world, which of course lies at the foundation of global warming. But the Democrats don't offer any real solution to global warming either. This is due to the fact that capitalism is incompatible with any solution to global warming. The only real solution would to global warming would be an economic catastrophe for capitalism and would serve to usher in world socialism.

There's convincing evidence, but it hasn't been proven. Some people like proof, Republicans and Democrats alike. I hate how every issue is bipartisan in this country. Anyways, the best thing to do is take steps in making our environment better, not putting all our energy in trying to prove one side wrong and the other side right. Once this can be done successfully, we'll be making real progress, and at the same time studying our planet and its changes, and how we can curb our impact, if we are making an impact at all.

Nobody has said they don't believe in global warming. What we've said is that the evidence stating that it is caused by man is a crock of chit. No amount of money being collected will fix it. There has been NO body who has come out and given us fix to this new scam that has not been already talked about for the last 40 years.

They care more about making money than saving the planet. They always have. When you look at what's going on in other countries, they accept that humans are having a serious impact on the environment. And if they're wrong, and all of this conservation work has been for nothing, then what's the harm? But if the evidence is correct, and we're really killing our planet, then wouldn't we be stupid not to take steps to reverse the damage?

The real reason they refuse to accept the evidence in front of their face is that they're immoral. They would rather go to hell rich than go to heaven poor.
