Out of the 2 million, how many were of natural causes?
How many were alcohol or drug related?
How many were auto accidents?

The 4000 in Iraq, how many were from natural causes?

The issue is this, my best guess is that 99% of the deaths in Iraq were not from natural causes and therefore far more preventable.

I'd further summise that the 2 million deaths in the states were not as preventable. It is true that people are going to die no matter what. It is not true that because of this life should simply be thrown away for illegal causes such as the lie-based war in Iraq.

It is because those 4,000 in Iraq joined for the noble cause of protecting and serving their country and were sent to a war that we can not win. It is because the vast majority of those 4,000 who died in Iraq did not have to die in such a manner. It is because out of those 4,000 who died in Iraq how many would have been saved if they had the proper gear as opposed to the government funded private military who are there for financial gain as opposed to a noble and worthy cause. The 4,000 who died in Iraq gave their lives under the misconception that they were part of a larger force keep the US safe from terrorism and they were lied to.

50, 000 people died last year because of drunk drivers. Do you see us mobilizing and protesting for the removal of alcohol. Hell no. I would argue those 50K deaths were wasted. The 4K lost in Iraq is a tragedy too, but I think it more highly a cause that the deaths that reasons that resulted in the 50K from Drunks.
People will pick and choose their figures simply to prove their point....just because you have numbers, doesn't mean your point is worth a crap...those who don't realize that are operating in an ignorance they themselves cannot understand. They just see smart people use numbers so they try and do the same.
You bring up a good point though...and I am enjoying everyone squirming over it.
One gold start for you!!

I suppose some people think that if you die while fighting to help another country with their freedom or so we can get control over their oil its much more tragic then say a child dying of cancer or a family getting hit by a drunk driver.

Death is apart of life and when you sign up to me in the military you know what you are going against. You volunteered also ...we easily forget these people are not drafted. They made the choice. Where as someone who gets cancer or hit by a drunk driver does not. I think this is much more tragic.

4000 is just the tip of the iceberg, the casualty list if totalled properly, you know you cant trust this criminal admin, would be far higher. How bout the total number of lives DESTROYED including the wounded; the head and brain injuries, PTSD, the limbless, those poisoned by Depleted Uranium ???
And the crying shame is these poor saps did it all in VAIN when you consider their sacrifice was for EXXON-MOBIL, Conoco-Phillips, etc.

Hell, at least the Contractors who died/wounded were doing it for the Money and were happy Soldiers of Fortune while doing so!!!!!!!!!

Died and killed, there's a big difference. I'm guessing you have never served in the military. That's okay though, just be sure to thank a Sailor,Marine, Soldier or Airman for their service to our country

Because they didn't die of natural causes, they died in an unnecessary war. Many people die in the US because they lack health care.
