Yes. English is THE language of the USA! Why should we pander to the illegals who sneak in and the illiterates who refuse to learn OUR language? I'm sick of bending over backwards and paying taxes to assist those who don't belong here.

And yes, if you don't learn English you don't belong here.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Says nothing about the language of the free speech. People should have the right to choose the language they wish to speak amongst themselves but they also have the responsibility to engage their adopted country in it's own language. Don't go somewhere then complain about where you choose to live.

It is long-overdue that our lawmakers enact legislation making english the official and not just the de facto language of the United States.
The best way for immigrants to assimilate into a culture is to learn the language.

Our schools are taught in english, government forms are printed in english, road signs.....the list goes on and on. NOT speaking english is just another way that those who refuse to assimilate are limiting their opportunities in a country where anyone who can strive to get whatever they want from life.

Although I am a staunch opponent of illegal immigration; I believe English Only policies are purely symbolic and I do not think the government should waste my time and my money on symbolism.
