Regarding the shooting of a cop in Pompano, Florida...
1. He shot a cop (sheriff's officer). 2. 1 or more witnesses SAW him shoot a cop. 3. He said he shot a cop. 4. He is already serving 2 life-sentences in jail (he was on the way to a doctor when he shot the cop, the cop was taking him there in a van). 5. He get's arrested - again, and a Public Defender lawyer is assigned to the case.

OK, you, as the Lawyer, knowing that this is an IMPOSSIBLE person to give any kind of defense too, do you look at your boss and say "are you mad at me today?" Or you just grab the file folder and go to visit your client?

He now works earning $13.50 an hour. We don't have that kind of money lying around so want to pay by credit card, but since the judge put out a warrant out on him they want cash. We have been dealing with Deputy and the Sheriff in our county and they agree that they (child support case worker) are being very unreasonable. Who can we speak to about this?

We may be in to deep! If we don't bring the troops home now, we could have a global crises for years . I support the troops and the war , but it's time to bring them home. we're going on 5 years now, and what have we accomplished besides hanging Saddam Hussein? It is un-American to exterminate a people, like we are attempting now.

While I was in Iraq, we transported our trucks and equipment over on a naval vessel. When we were done we came home and all of our equipment came with us...so my question is...why did the US government shipping our equipment back and forth overseas instead of leaving it there for the soldiers who were replacing us.

A few notes...

1. When we returned our trucks were transferred to another unit and then deployed 2 months later

2. When we left Iraq our trucks were in 100% working order and in fact our maint. section held the highest mission capable equipment status in Iraq from the time we got there until we came home.

3. Our trucks had already been fitted with gun-boxes, steel plated doors, and other mission essential equipment.

So...why exactly did we ship it all home and leave the people who replaced us with their p.o.s. trucks ?

Who believes the media is telling the truth or promoting their liberal preferences.

Whether you sample your news feed from ABC or CBS (or, yes, even NBC and MSNBC), whether you prefer Fox News Channel or National Public Radio, The Wall Street Journal or The New Yorker, some of the journalists feeding you are also feeding cash to politicians, parties or political action committees.
MSNBC.com identified 143 journalists who made political contributions from 2004 through the start of the 2008 campaign, according to the public records of the Federal Election Commission. Most of the newsroom checkbooks leaned to the left: 125 journalists gave to Democrats and liberal causes. Only 16 gave to Republicans. Two gave to both parties.

how many USA citizens will look at labels and tags this Christmas and buy only things made in the USA.
if we buy only or as much as possible of what is made here we will regain a lot of what we have lost.
the companies that have moved out of the country will have to come back. the jobs will come back with the companies. sure they will try to get around it some how. because the higher ups in the companies make more money if they are based out of -hum lets say- China because they don't have to pay the workers much.
but if we stop buying Made In China the big wigs wont make anything and eventually they will have to move the companies back. they will learn that a cut in their very large pay checks is better than no pay check at all
but have we as a nation become so lazy or so selfish that we cant stop buying "everything" we want just for a few months. can you imagine how much better off we would all be, a year from this Christmas if we stick to our guns this Christmas?

I ordered a plasma television online.
The television was delivered on the 30/05/07
A few days after a second television was delivered!! The first was signed for by my girlfriend the second was signed for by myself. I was the name on the order.
Needles to say i was over the moon, I held on to the two TV's untill one week ago (some 6 months after origionally delivered) where i sold it to one of my work friends, thinking that the matter was well and truley forgotton about.
All was good untill today when the company phoned to say that they had delivered two by mistake and wanted to know where the other one was?

My question is where do i stand legally?
Can the company chase something that happened so long ago?
If so and i manage to get the Tv back, can i charge them a rediculous storage fee, to hopefully deter them from pursuing me further?
Or should i just deny all knowledge?

Legal advice, on where i stand would be vastly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Financing with a minor in Economics. I am 26 y.o., married, not a U.S. Citizen but a permanent resident instead. I recently joined the NAVY, and yes as of now I am only an EM ( electrician's mate, mainly because of my alien status, I cannot do a lot of jobs, nor become an officer). Later when that changes, I want to switch to being either a Master-at-Arms or Seal, and even as an EM I will apply for IA (individual augmentee - so I can go to Iraq to help these kids). People (AMERICAN CITIZENS) have a hard time understanding why I have a lot and I would give it all up for this country, that gave me an opportunity to come go to school educate myself -with 1 bachelor and 3 associates degrees- and become a part of the population, also gave the chance to make the money I make now. Yes I won't be anything but an E-3 coming in, but I WILL TAKE A BULLET FOR THIS COUNTRY!

Am I the only one who thinks that more and more companies are being corrupted by the people they choose to put in charge? FOr example, I was a regional manager for a transportation company that had 2 drivers get killed with in a year. The truth is that the drivers were way over their hours of service and had no business being behind the wheel but their regional manager told them that if they didn't drive they would be fired. Amazingly enough after they were killed their log books came up missing and so did the records of any hauls they had done. Both their families are currently suing this company. I left because I couldn't stand the whole attitude of "This is what the law tells us but we are going to do it our way." attitude.

It's about $4 a gallon now. Why gripe about gas when you can gripe about milk!

Is it really OPEC's fault? For keeping gas prices high - for our trying out ethanol - for the price of corn going up - for the price of corn feed going up - for the price of milk going up?

Or is it some vast conspiracy that we just need to make more cows pump out that milk?

Any thoughts?

The parent, whether solvent or insolvent, may relinquish to the child
the right of controlling the child and receiving the child's earnings.
Abandonment by the parent is presumptive evidence of such
relinquishment.
