how many USA citizens will look at labels and tags this Christmas and buy only things made in the USA.
if we buy only or as much as possible of what is made here we will regain a lot of what we have lost.
the companies that have moved out of the country will have to come back. the jobs will come back with the companies. sure they will try to get around it some how. because the higher ups in the companies make more money if they are based out of -hum lets say- China because they don't have to pay the workers much.
but if we stop buying Made In China the big wigs wont make anything and eventually they will have to move the companies back. they will learn that a cut in their very large pay checks is better than no pay check at all
but have we as a nation become so lazy or so selfish that we cant stop buying "everything" we want just for a few months. can you imagine how much better off we would all be, a year from this Christmas if we stick to our guns this Christmas?

try second hand stores
*Twestedbutright
we have to stop buying goods made in other places before they will ever start making them here again. I know that it will be hard but it can be done
*Huckelberryjoe

I didn't mean to sound hateful. I'm very sorry if it came off that way.
what I mean by second hand stores is that if it is seconded hand then someone in the USA will be making the money off the product no matter where it came form to begin with.
and it can be fun if we do something like that. you know if we all did something like everything for Christmas has to be used or hand made. and again I am very sorry if I upset you.

Very good idea especially with all the recalls, it will also help our economy!

You might also try taking the kids to a local teddy bear factory, so they can make their own bear, my kids loved this when I did it two years ago.

I totally agree, I always try to buy American made products. However, they are really hard to find. Also, a lot of the labeling is misleading. All components of an item may be made in another country, and shipped here to be assembled. these items can legally have the "Made in the USA" label. Sad but true. I ask my retailer pointed questions about products over $50.00 and if they can't answer I usually don't buy. I'd like to see more clear labeling with "0-100% Made in the USA".

Wow...if only we could do this. This reality of this is that we are owned by China (not literally-)...and everything we buy is from them- a third world country with children forced to work at the age of 10 or from some company in the middle east area because to them 10 dollars a week supports them.
Have you actually tried to do this? Food for example is imported from many different countries...
Cars? we have a few...but their parts are mostly from out of the country..
I commend you for this great "attempt"...and hope to hear how you did.
No no not upset :)....I am "working" and didn't realize I had caps on... I think what you are doing is great--I wish for all of us we could make this great change and let America be great again...and independent !

Good luck with finding Made in America. It won't be easy.
I won't be buying much this year. Every year, I cut back. I am not going into debt for gifts. BS on that. I will just have to be creative. I'm really tired of the ungratefulness of some people.
I'm thankful if someone buys me a gift. It's the thought that counts. I don't understand some people.

I'll go a step forward than that. I do not buy gifts for Christmas. You get a Christmas card from me and a great Xmas dinner.
Try that. Let's try getting away from makingchristmas a holiday about retail sales

i like my u . s ., the forged previous united states of america, yet often times I desire my ancestors could've stayed in Norway. that's large there too. as properly, do no longer they are asserting the grass is greener on the different section. that's no longer that we actually take it with none attention; by using fact that's all all of us understand we can't understand what it may be choose for to be a citizen someplace else.

I have been doing this for many years. Believe me it is getting harder and harder. If you were to buy nothing made in China we would be buying nothing. We would certainly be barefoot. In most cases you cannot find a made in USA equivalent. What I do now is try to find the least evil country to buy from. Made in Mexico is better than Made in China.

I'm making most of my gift this year, most of the resources I have available to me come from Canada, Brazil, Etc.
Before we can buy American, we need to produce American goods. Currently, our laws (NAFTA) are designed to keep that from happening.
The idea is great, but it is not realistic so long as we are being forced to buy from other nations by our own government

You are absolutely right! They have given our country away (to special interests) and we let them. That's what happens when corporations run the government. I'm ready to vote them all out and get rid of th so called 2 parties we have.
