I'd go and talk to a recruiter. If you don't try, they certainly won't come and get you. If you want to get in, give it a shot.
That said, I honestly give you any odds on your getting accepted. Smoking won't disqualify you.
If you want in, apply. The worst thing, in view of the fact you want in, is that you'll be disqualified for medical reasons.

You have to be off ADHD medication for 1 year b4 the Army will take you. But, being on medication because you are bipolar will disqualify you. You can't join if you have that illness. Why would you want to lie about something like that? You would only be hurting yourself.

Well,
you could just go in and then not tell your recruiter, however if they find out you'll lose all of your bonus money, and owe for back pay according to the terms of your contract.
Your best bet would be to talk to a recruiter and let them know your situation. Many people believe that the recruiters job is only to get people into the military, however they can also put you in touch with contracted government jobs, agencies, etc.
If you want more information let me know...

You can't lie about that kind of stuff the military is about honor you know. You have to go thru a screening process at MEPS. Even if you did lie and slip through the system you would get caught at basic and they be in trouble for fraudulent enlistment.

They'll take you.
If they won't take you into Active Duty, they should take you in the Reserves.
If they don't take you in the Reserves, they'll take you in the Army National Guard.
If they don't, try the Marine Corps.
My cousin was in the USMC and he has bipolar disorder and ADHD, and he smokes.
Don't lie - that's a bad thing to do, especially when you're dealing with the Military.
I'd go on goarmy.com, you can talk to Sgt. Star, he's a computerized ''Soldier", and he'll answer a bunch of questions for you.
Or you can just go down to your local Armed Forces recruiter's office.
Good luck.

don't join, it doens't really matter if you hurt yourself but other people lifes might be at stake.... they need to know that they can depend on you when the time comes in situations of crisis.... if you want to help then write to soliders and give them moral support, volunteer in the community, and try and recruit others to join the army
