I would be in favor of bringing them home now if it meant that we would continue that train of thought to all our troops on foreign soil everywhere.
If we have no reason to be in Iraq, what reason do we have to be in Germany, or Japan or Korea or The Philipines or Italy or Spain???????
I am convinced that if we stay in Iraq, it will soon be much like Kuwait and the UAE. A huge loss for Al Queda.
Your premise is that if we stay, there will be this level of violence forever. That's just not true. It is improving every day.
To leave now is just stupid. It would compromise every soldier in every foreign country immediately. Every pocket dictator will know that in spite of heavy early loses, they can wait it out until the Yanks split. May not be true but, they don't know that. They will try. They don't care about loses like we do.
your choices are: Stay and help build a modern country there or leave everywhere and build fortress America.
I am in favor of the latter.

We need to bring the troops home now from Iraq. Iraq is the least of our worries now, with Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan on the brink of war. At least our leaders are speaking with the Chinese, UK, France, Russia about Iran and Pakistan in order to stop future problems.
Working together is what this is about - WWII = the first time we ever worked with the British, Canadians, Russians, etc. to go to war for an actual cause much more important than the lies W has told.

A military occupation like we have in that country will never work. It will only worsen morale, and bankrupt us. We cannot force democracy on people, the concept itself is flawed. If they are to be free and make their own decisions...nobody can do that for them.
It was a mistake to go and it is a mistake to stay. So many people here seem to be detached from reality, they obviously don't know anyone who is serving in Iraq right now...and if they do they must not talk to them.

I agree but I heard John McCain on the radio.
He brought up what I think is a valid concern:
Iran, Pakistan.
The region may be too unstable to leave right now. What are the consequences? I would like to hear more about this and from the other side.
I want us out of there. We never should have gone in.
I support Dennis Kucinich who wants to bring the troops home now.

They aren't going to do this. The whole point of the invasion/occupation of Iraq is to give the U.S. a strategic military placement in the Middle East. We are going to be there a very long time. As long as the U.S. perceived interests including Israel are being viewed as threatened.
Everyone needs to WAKE UP! This is fact and the point where the situation can be seriously dealt with. Continuing the rant of bring them home won't work. No one wants them out of there more than me. Does anyone realise the geographical significance of Iraq?

I agree, bring the troops home now. The military job is done. Even the Generals in the pentagon have said this as well as the CIA. It needs to be all worked out politically now. There is no need to have them in Iraq now. It's just too costly and expensive for us.
I agree with the poster below. Impeach the crooks in the White House. I support Kucinich in his efforts to bring the criminals to justice.

We have to bring the troops home because the country is bankrupt, and no more Americans should die for Bush's mistake.

Just another no brain non thinking end the war now liberal!
If we pull out now and the nation goes to hell who will be blamed for the mess....... the US
Will any nation ever trust us again in sticking to our commitment.?
What kind of signal would that send to the terrorist when the going gets tough the US run like the bunch of infidels they are?
Would Iran not see it as a weakness that the US wil not stop their nuclear plans and as a opportunity to set up some kind of proxy government in Iraq similar to Hezbollah I could go on and on but it is obvious you and your ilk do not do much thinking.

We are going to have a larger global crisis if we bring them home now. Turkey would invade, Iran would invade, or Syria would invade. The land is rich, and the people are against each other. If you wanted to take over a country and make money, now would be the time to do it. If we leave, there will be massive killings of innocents. That's why we should stay.

I just love the "not until the job is done" responses above.
I challenge any of those posters to give me a concrete of description of what a "done job" means in the case of Iraq. There is no plan, there has NEVER been a plan after the invasion. Therefore there is no measure as to when the job is "done."
Bring them home now!
