I think they have mixed up the words "fighting" and "singing".

On myspace there are advertisements and profile for a concert to "fight for human rights" in Darfur.

I thought a concert was SINGING not FIGHTING. A concert is a publicity stunt where a bunch of bands(usually ones running out of money or PR) play music and hope leaders start to feel bad about what they've done, have a change of heart and decide to let their people live in peace and harmony.

Got news for ya, that never works.

"FIGHTING" for human rights is like participating in world war II where jews were massacred by Nazis. Fighting for human rights is catching a mad man in the middle east that practiced biological weapons on his own people.

Woodstock and "Rock for Darfur" = SINGING, dancing, smoking ___, and f_____.

World War I, II, Iraq, ect... = FIGHTING dictators that kill their own people(or people next door) because of religion, culture, just feel like it and/or not practicing basic human rights.

How is it that if someone assaults me, they have to pay money to the COURT? As if the court was a victim? The court is supported by the state, not by fines from defendants. And i'm not talking court costs, I'm talking 500 "safe neighborhood fee" 1000 "anti-drug" fee, 500 probation fee, and much more. It seems a little ridiculous that they should make money off people like this. And why should I have to use a public defender who is paid by the court? A prosecutor who owned stock in a defendant's company would NEVER be allowed. And why should I be stuck with a criminal record that bars me from getting even the dumbest jobs that a trained chimp could do, like stocking shelves at Kohls for 9 bucks an hour, practically guaranting that I have to commit another crime or live in a cardboard box? And no, trolls, obviously I am using "i and me" as an example.

Eight people have been killed and at least 10 others injured in a shooting at a school in southern Finland, police have said.

The incident took place in Tuusula, some 50km (30 miles) north of the capital Helsinki.

Finnish police said an 18-year-old man killed five boys, two girls and the female principal of Jokela High School.

The gunman shot himself in the head and is in hospital in a critical condition, police said.

About a dozen other people are being treated for injuries.

It felt unreal - a pupil I have taught myself was running towards me, screaming, a pistol in his hand

Police have not identified the gunman but a teacher said he was a student at the school.

Police responded to a call made at 1144 (0944 GMT) and made contact with the gunman when they arrived at the school 11 minutes later, said Timo Leppala, the officer in charge of the police operation.

"Police ordered him to surrender, to which he answered by shooting towards the police," Mr Leppala said.

He described a scene of chaos with students jumping from school windows and running for shelter as more police arrived.

It is not clear when the gunman shot himself in the head.

Police said he was armed with a .22 calibre pistol for which he obtained a license on 19 October. He did not have a criminal record and "was from an ordinary family," a police spokesman said.

A Tuusula municipality spokeswoman said the gunman opened fire during a lesson at Jokela secondary school, which has 400 pupils between 12 and 18.

'Ran in opposite direction'

Kim Kiuru, a Jokela teacher, said the head teacher announced over the school public announcement's system just before noon (1000 GMT) that all students should remain in their classrooms.

"I stayed in the corridor to listen to more instructions having locked my classroom door," Mr Kiuru told Finland's YLE radio.

"After that I saw the gunman running with what appeared to be a small calibre handgun in his hand through the doors toward me after which I escaped to the corridor downstairs and ran in the opposite direction."

"It felt unreal - a pupil I have taught myself was running towards me, screaming, a pistol in his hand."

Mr Kiuru said he saw a woman's body as he fled the building. He said he then told his students to "jump out of the windows... and all my pupils were saved".

YouTube video

A video called "Jokela high school massacre 11/7/2007" was posted on the YouTube website by an 18-year-old man during the past two weeks.

The video shows a picture of a building by a lake and two photos of a young man holding a gun.

Going by the username Sturmgeist89, the person who posted the video calls himself a "social Darwinist" who would "eliminate all who I see unfit". "Sturmgeist" means storm spirit in German.

The video has now been removed from the website and police have not yet commented on it.

He had also reportedly posted on another website a rambling manifesto.

In it he said: "death and killing is not a tragedy... Not all human lives are important or worth saving."

He wrote that he was acting alone and nobody is to blame for his actions. "This is my war: one man's war against humanity, governments and weak-minded masses of the world."

The Great Purge refers collectively to several related campaigns of political repression and persecution in the Soviet Union orchestrated by Joseph Stalin during the 1930s, which removed all of his remaining opposition from power. It involved the purge of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and the persecution of unaffiliated persons, both occurring within a period characterized by omnipresent police surveillance, widespread suspicion of "saboteurs", imprisonment, and killings

Cons have told me:
- if you think the deficit spending was bad under Republicans (like Reagan and Bush), just wait till Democrats get in office
- if you think things are bad with Bush just wait till Democrats get into office. We'll be reading the Koran by christmas.
- sure the economy grew fastest under FDR but if he had used supply side economics it would have grown even faster

This is the type of things I hear from cons.

Why are we suppose to believe them when they said:
- the economy would go into a recession after the 1993 Dem Omnibus Reconcilation bill (the economy grew every single month Clinton was president
- Iraqis would greet us as liberators
- that the war would pay for itself with oil proceeds
- that the Mission was Accomplished
- that the insurgency was in its deathroes
- that the insurgency would die down after elections
and
- that the insurgency would die down after executing Saddam

He replied back with 9.

I assume he will come back with his 10th account.

But it looks like YA tossed him too.

What a shame.

The 10-year-old boy who accidentally started one of the worst California wildfires last month could face stern consequences, should prosecutors decide to bring charges. Though too young to be charged as an adult, the boy could still face millions of dollars in fines, removal from his home and possible detention as a ward of the state. For now the boy's fate - and that of his parents, who would be partially liable for any restitution payments he would have to pay - rests with Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley.

I think it's pretty ridiculous. Here we have another lapdog of Bush who is just trying to smooch with the world's superpower and bask in that power. I bet so-called conservatives are just ecstatic that Bush has one more influential, legitimate crony in the world. Sarkozy, of course, is careful not mention Iraq because french citizens are overwhelming opposed to Bush's policies. So what is Sarkozy doing with Bush?
