The people who think state-mandated population control are fully aware it is a step in the direction of eugenics, eutanasia--and possiblly another Holocausst. That's their real goal. Of course, like the Nazis, they don't admit this publicly. But even their rhetoric is identical--sometimes to teh exact phrasing. And history shows that is how that kind of "policy" unfolds.
True today in China as well. With their population control measures there has been an enormous increase in infanticide.
There are legitimate ways to reduce population growth that don't infringe on anyone's rights or freedom. It's been shown--over and over again--that all you really need to do is empowr women--make sure they get education, job opportunities, and are not subjected to male domination legally--or at least reduce such domination as much as possible. Do that--and the population growth slows and then stops.
But can you imagine any onne so far on the right as to support state control of births advocating women's righs! More likely Osama will become a born-again Christain!

Let me put it this way. If I were tyrant of the world, I would do my best to reduce the earth's population to about 4 billion, thru birth control. I think it's better for nature, the earth and humanity if we would do so.
Read a fiction book once where birth control drugs were put into all the water supplies, so women couldn't get pregnant unless they had the antidote.
However, this is all fantasy. The only way to enforce such a scheme is forced sterilizations, and that's just too harsh. Or forced abortions, which I would not support.

It is as long as you're not killing people to do it.
6 billion people and counting with no end in sight. It doesn't take a genius to figure out this will only lead to more problems.
