Cons have told me:
- if you think the deficit spending was bad under Republicans (like Reagan and Bush), just wait till Democrats get in office
- if you think things are bad with Bush just wait till Democrats get into office. We'll be reading the Koran by christmas.
- sure the economy grew fastest under FDR but if he had used supply side economics it would have grown even faster

This is the type of things I hear from cons.

Why are we suppose to believe them when they said:
- the economy would go into a recession after the 1993 Dem Omnibus Reconcilation bill (the economy grew every single month Clinton was president
- Iraqis would greet us as liberators
- that the war would pay for itself with oil proceeds
- that the Mission was Accomplished
- that the insurgency was in its deathroes
- that the insurgency would die down after elections
and
- that the insurgency would die down after executing Saddam

Because everyone is entitled to predict and should not be ciriticized for it. It is a part of free speech. Do you propose to take that away from conservatives?

You're right.
We should instead listen to the Democrats.
You know, the ones who told us Osama bin Laden wasn't dangerous and that Oliver North was being reactionary when he bought a 60K dollar home security system when bin Laden threatened him.

Same ones who told the Syrian government that they came bearing a message of peace from Israel... a message never given to them by the Israeli Prime Minister.

Same ones who told the grand jury that they did NOT have sexual relations with that woman.

Same ones who 'predicted' that they'd be the most effective Congress in years and have turned out to be the worst Congress in history. There's a prediction gone horribly wrong, huh?

The predictions you listed have some basis in fact and are extrapolations of what likely will happen.

You're right. These predictions are for people with short memories. They tend to ignore people with real wisdom. Listen to what this then unknown congressman has to say about going to war a while back. This is more relevant today than when he gave his (then) unpopular opinion back in 2003:

We know what your next question will be also. It's a gift, based on intelligence, perception and sophistication. But, I've said enough. We don't like to brag.

I don't think I made any of those predictions. I can make this prediction...dems will grow the government and have to pay for it with taxes. That prediction is as true as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.

Don't believe a word they say. They're just mad that Bush has run their party into the ground and they know the Democrats will prevail in '08. Plain and simple.
