The courts are funny. It really depends on the prosecutor and maybe the judge and a person's past record. I not live in NY, but, what the prosecutor do is throw the book at you, then he/she can offer you a plea bargain that sounds better. I just say off hand maybe 6-12 months, but this a wild guess as it really depends how much the prosecutor push and how good the Defense Lawyer work against the push.
I say "you" in a general term, not say it yourself.

just fight it. There has to be some factor that you can use to raise reasonable doubt. Let me guess, you had a fight and the loser reported you? Well, the person "hit you too". God, when will we stop running to the cops for every single little thing? How much do the cops have on you? DON'T give them anything!
