My husband just got a $20,000.00 bench warrent for missing court on a traffic ticket...isnt that too much???how long should i expect him to be gone when he goes to jail???

well his court is an hour from our house and we made it half way to the court house when my trucks transmission went out..i can get paper work from the mechanic if you think that would help?

Seems like your particular court doesn't like it when the judge orders you to either pay the ticket or appear in court. By neglecting to appear...the judge issuing the bench warrant has made it clear he doesn't tolerate contempt of court!

If you have proof for your delay enroute to court, bring that on your next appearance. Consider this, however, did either you or your husband attempt to call the court after the fact to report your delay?!

You'll need a lawyer to fight this. Does he have a good reason for missing his court date?
