I hear many on Y!A talk about the 'redneck' south but I guess since liberals abide in the north, tolerance and 'enlightment' rules the day.

It really doesn't.

Who knew?

I am a single mother and my daughter is going on 4 years old. Her dad is not in her life nor would I want him to really be. He walked out of her life when we split when she was only a year and 1/2 and has never looked back. He does nothing to support her and has no finacial stability at all. He bounces from place to place living off of other people. He's in and out of jail, lies, cheats, steals and is just not someone I would want to have much influence on my child...I mean our child. He' a con-artist, nothing more, nothing less.

Anyway I was just wondering what I can do to ensure my daughter goes to my parents, sister or a close friend if something were to happen to me. What do I need to do?

Thanks,
KiKi

Al Gore has done more flying of private aircraft than 99% of the world's population- first as vice president and now as a book/movie salesman. I find it a bit (actually ALOT) hypocritical that he should have the nads to point his finger at the average American and demand that we cut back on emissions when he has done such an incredibly poor job all his life! Gore's carbon footprint is a thousand times that of ANY US citizen! Come'on Al- give the NOBEL back to someone who deserves it- NOT YOU!

Liberals HATE the fact that exectutives make a lot of money but I NEVER hear them complain about the amount of money their liberal donors in Hollywood make per picture. Should "actors" who PRETEND for a living make more money than Executives who run companies?

Most US corporate leaders believe chief executives are overpaid and do not provide value for money for their companies, according to a study that will embolden critics of excessive compensation.

The findings – to be published today by the National Association of Corporate Directors – are likely to strengthen calls by investors and politicians, including George W. Bush, US president, for restraint on executive pay at a time of growing income inequality in the US.

An 'artistic' photo from elton johns collection was seized from a display at the baltic gallary in Gateshead.

It showed a very young girl in an explicit pose.

After a month, it seems the police are unable to say whether it is illegal or not - if the authorities can't tell, then how is anyone else supposed to?

(FWIW: I think it is clearly objectionable - a child so young cannot have given meaningful consent to have such a photo taken and published globally - and everyone involved should be punished to the fullest extent of the law)

Personally, I continue to be amazed daily. I have lived through much of the ( American ) history many reference to in their Q&A's. Having first hand exposure to the reality, I can say without a doubt, more than not have a revisionist understanding of past events. When I read threads from Waco’s who's political axe is sharpened daily with blog sites I cry for this nation. I weep for the loss of truth, morals, respect, and wisdom. Since liberals have nothing better to do than *****, *****, ***** the internet is their heaven on earth. Their collective hive. If there is such a thing as the BORG, it would be the misinformation machine of ideology. If you want to hear GOD laugh, tell him your plan.

With the Republican minority in congress ready to support Bush's veto of the SCHIP program that is favored by over 70% of Americans and increased reports of the demise of the middle class, what can the Republicans do looking forward to change their image of being uncaring towards children and the middle class?

KABUL, Afghanistan - The U.S. military said Monday it had looked into allegations that soldiers had desecrated the Quran during a raid on an Afghan home and found no evidence that soldiers had defaced the Muslim holy book.

The allegations sparked an outcry among villagers in the eastern province of Kunar, who met with the governor, provincial leaders and U.S. military commanders on Sunday over the issue.

Don't all of the major terrorist, racist, corrpupt politicians, and criminal organizations use the internet to spread their hatred? I don't see how a man who claims to have invented such a platform for terror could be chosen as the Nobel prize winner.

How does making movies about global warming equate to a Nobel peace prize? Could it be that the international community who chooses this prize winner is hoping to jump start a run for the Oval office for quite possibly the weakest man on the planet to run the US? That is Al Gore.

If you were the President of Iran or a leader of Al Qaida wouldn't you want Al Gore rather than Rudy Juliani or Mitt Romney to be running our military??

Many people do not seem to pay Police any respect. They are the face of a country's law (UK in my case) and as such get abused, ignored and even physically attacked...by criminals? Yes, but not all the time. Sometimes just average citizens who seem to think it wise to withhold information or hinder the progress of the 'Fuzz'.

Does anyone else find this sad? I mean my local bobby is pushing sixty, I would have thought, and deals with a whole world of **** each and every day, and he always manages a smile and stops to talk to an old lady at the bottom of our road. Ten minutes later he might be getting kicked senseless by a gang of teenage hoodlums.

He deserves so much credit but many people just see him as the face of the establishment and so give no help. It's the shadowy corridors of power above him that are the problem, not the men and the women on the streets!

Anyone else agree?

The "wall of separation" between chuch and state - protected by the establishment clause - and free exercise will not be addressed by SCOTUS this term, much to the frustration of accomodationists (those who support accomodating religious groups with puclic funds) and separationists.

As Greenhouse notes in the attached article, "The question lies at the intersection where the two religion clauses of the First Amendment meet: the protection for the “free exercise” of religion and the prohibition against the official “establishment” of religion. It is not clear where the current justices would draw the line if they were ever to accept a case that presents the question." After reading the article, where do you think they would draw the line, and , in your humble opinion, where should the line be drawn?
