If Turkey will be against the U.S., regarding the Genocide Resolution, i think that if the U.S. truly does have allies, they will step up and help the U.S. out. I personally do not think that Turkey will act as harshly as they threaten to because, they need the U.S. more than the U.S. needs them. The U.S. can put their bases in other countries, though it may take some time. It is never the wrong time to stand up for the truth. What I have realized this past week is that the entire world basically DOES know that what took place from 1915-1920 was a genocide. However, some of them don't recognize it formally only due to the fear of losing ties with turkey. It hurts me how people don't stand up for the truth these days. None of this is the current day Turkey's part, however, i strongly think they should gather some strength and formally apologize the Armenians for what their ancestors did. That is basically what happened with Germany and the Holocaust.

I want our future generation of Armenians and Turks to live peacefully, without any hatred for each other. After all, our countries are neighbors. This can happen if Turkey gains the strength to accept the truth as a country.

In case anyone does not realize it, the event in question happened nearly a hundred years ago. Suddenly, the democrats in congress chose this moment to present this resolution. Why? Because the democratic party is so heavily invested in America loosing in Iraq that they are now going so far as to attempt to alienate Turkey. A positive relationship with Turkey is vital as they provide our troops with an important staging area and supply route.

There is only one reason to bring this resolution up now and that is to harm the war effort. Again one must ask the question. How can any good American support a party that is seeking the same results as the enemy?

It was only a matter of time, genocide resolution or not.

Turkey wants to crush the PPK as do the Iranians. I won't miss the PPK.

Once the ball gets rolling, Turkey and Iran will kill more Kurds than Saddam did.

It would have happened anyway.
