There is a lot of talk about this North American Union that is supposedly in the works, and will ultimately combine Mexico, the USA and Canada. How will this impact our country, and our region?

I voted for George Bush four times (twice when the father ran, and twice for George W, who I consider the greatest President EVER). Our economy is soaring, we are the most respected and loved nation worldwide, and things couldn't be better if you're an American. I think we need to keep it in the family, if you know what I'm saying.

Any chance Jeb Bush will consider a run in the near future?

It's all over the news, rice trying to talk the two sides into talks here in the US. It will cost us Tax payers a horrendous amount of money, but can it lead to anything, without at least an idea of a plan, what to achieve? Or is it a much needed publicity stunt? What's your draw?

Okay...I am really starting to get confused. I have known for a while I wanted to join either the Air Force or the Navy. I grew up as a military brat and liked it for the most part (I just DID NOT want to join the army.) If anyone read my previous posts, I am supposed to be signing my papers tomorrow, but today two of my uncles came and jumped down my back telling me don't do it! They said tell them never mind and go to the Air Force. They are saying the Air Force is better, better benefits and all. They say the Navy won't honor what I want, which is: to spend MAJORITY of my time on-land as a nurse in a base hospital (I know I will have sea time, but how much), a bonus (the recruiter said not everyone gets a bonus), to travel some, and room for promotion. My uncles said that you get promoted slower in the NAvy than any other branch. Thing is, I actually liked what the Navy recruiter said (I guess I am supposed to though, right.) I am confused. In your opinions, the pros/cons of both?

The left is literally doing logical loop-de-loops in order to meld together contradictory ideas. Liberals seem to care more about protecting the environment, then they do about the lives of unborn babies. Liberals make jokes about practicing Christians, & they make excuses for Muslim terrorists. Liberals say that they support free speech, but they are responsible for political correctness. Political correctness is censorship by any name. Liberals say that they're against discrimination, but they support racial quotas systems.
Liberals say that they support diversity. Real diversity is about acknowledging difference, enjoying those differences, but understanding those differences are important & when you do, you realise just how evil the ideology of multiculturalism is. Multiculturalism is the very antithesis of diversity, it is the destruction of human uniqueness. And of course multiculturalism was created by liberals.

I'm going to school to be a teacher, and from what I've seen so far, our school systems do very well with what they have. The biggest problem is not letting teachers TEACH, and forcing them to teach to benchmarks.

We try to educate EVERYONE. That includes the mentally handicapped (special ed) and people that don't care and don't want to learn. They bring us down relative to other developed countries where the education system is much more competitive than the job market (the opposite of our system).

Of course, perhaps if teacher pay was decent, you'd have more highly qualified teachers. I graduated in the top 3% in undergrad (I'm going for an MA now). Most sharp students declined to go into teaching, leaving that avenue for the C students.

The one thing that could be said for the Soviet Union - they could teach their kids to read. You had good students made to be teachers. Here, good students want to join the fat cat world.

Its like politics is brainwashing people or something. I mean there is absolutely nothing wrong with voting and doing things that are productive to our country. But......Why is it that there seems to be this "political racism?" Must a man hate his neighbor because he is a democrat or vice versa? hmmmm...... thats a little extreme isn't it? A person must stand up for what he or she believes, but that doesn't mean that a liberal democrat or conservative republican should be fired from his or her job for what they believe! This is a problem! I have seen it with my own eyes! I have a lot of liberal friends. we don't see eye to eye, but hey! we are still friends and we do not let politics interfere with that. I'm able to have a conversation with them without any bad vibes at all.

From now on if a man is caught kerb crawling he will be criminally charged. OMG! In Europe prostitution is quite legal and has reduced the amount of sex crimes in these countries.
The girls are checked over by a doctor every month and if they pass the tests they are given permission to work and if they fail they can't until they do.
The girls work in a designated area which is policed and regulated so the girls are safe as are the people who wish frequent it.
I know this is an emotive subject but I believe a lot of relationships could be saved by this. Women lose their libido too and some men have unusual fetishes that their partners can't fulfill. Wouldn't it be better if these people could have their natural urges satisfied in a safe and clean environment instead of risking their (and their partners) health?
Should the government think about this?

Costs of Non-enforcement

The uncalculated costs to U.S. citizens of the judicial failure to permit enforcement of employer sanctions will be threefold:

1. The United States is in a war against terrorists, who track every nuance of U.S. immigration laws and security control. Hiding out as illegal workers is a perfect cover for terrorists, especially when they are secure in the knowledge that their false documents will not be challenged.

2. Among taxpayer costs are the benefits received by illegal aliens — including education, public health, public utilities, and social welfare.

3. U.S. citizens continue to feel the sting of identity theft, which causes them time, money, and anguish to prove that their lawful Social Security number was stolen or usurped by an illegal alien or counterfeiter. The Federal Trade Commission estimated that 10 million U.S. citizens were victims of identity theft in 2002, and that was five years ago.

Advocates of the radical “New Sanctuary Movement” contend that identity theft is not a crime — when illegal aliens do it. A case in point, Elvira Arellaño illegally entered the United States (a misdemeanor), where she was apprehended and deported; she then illegally re-crossed the U.S.-Mexican border without inspection (a felony).

After having a child (an anchor baby), she migrated to the Chicago area and worked, having stolen the identity of a U.S. citizen. She again was apprehended and convicted of identity theft. When DHS sought to deport her, she took sanctuary in a storefront church, becoming the New Sanctuary Movement’s poster person. Recently she was apprehended and deported once again to Mexico. Why should the “rights and privileges” of lawbreakers trump those of law-abiding citizens? The costs to identity-theft victims outweigh the benefits to businesses, voter-hungry politicians, and aliens defiant of U.S. immigration law. Coddling illegal aliens by downplaying their criminal conduct weakens the fiber of the nation, undermining the authority of government and putting national security at risk.
